I played a tank for most of my time in DAI, that sadly meant a lot of leaving Cass/Blackwall behind. Bull was usually in my group for dps-intense stuff like fighting dragons.

I just discovered a game on Steam/Kickstarter called Wyldheart that looks like it could be something special: lots of character customization and gameplay that looks very fun in the video! And then there are the idiots who think they have the right to gatekeep who 'belongs' in these fandoms, as you said. One of many reasons Dragon Age's fandom sucks. There are some nice people who try to engage with it (many of which I follow) but they're a drop in the bucket.

I gave up on fandoms a long time ago, and then my single recent attempt at re-engaging with one (Horizon's) quickly reminded me why I stopped in the first place. Toxic, shitty people who decide being a fan of something makes it theirs and means they know better than the people who created it.

Those are great examples because Nintendo's stuff makes up a good chunk of the things I feel this way about. A new Mario Kart used to be like, a religious experience for me. Now? I don't buy them because I know I'd play for 10-20min, lose interest and never touch it again.

Does anyone else do the thing where they lose interest in things they love (games, IPs, etc) and it just... never comes back? I feel like I've fallen out of love with about as much stuff as I've enjoyed in the last 2 or 3 years and I hate it.

Rest in peace, Catherine O'Hara. She gave me some of the best laughs I've experienced in my life and sounded like a lovely person from the people she worked with. Few celeb deaths genuinely affect me, but this one... this one fucking hurts.

The reply is appreciated, but I fully understand how it works. It's the 'poorly explained and executed' part I take issue with, along with the fact that they intentionally removed/reset every character's existing transmog setup on patch day.

And that doesn't even touch on the forced reset of every character's transmog/appearance, so on your first login, you had to pay thousands of gold to get back what you already had. How did anyone on the WoW dev team think that was an acceptable thing to do? Unbelievably shortsighted.
