anyways TL did not release their own set for vday this year. just posted the purple vday set & the singles set. we did get this comment though so now we know who keeps (unnecessarily) editing the sets

a comment from one of the staff members on TL that reads,

Hey I read all of your comments on the other post and appreciate the feedback, you raised some really good points. We were only going to release one set or a couple but l've done a mini overhaul of a handful - they're all from Vent! We can only have a certain number of sets at a time or people feel overwhelmed so we do a rotation/replacement instead every month.

didnt realise the app i use to check kids media reviews had an app review and apparently talklife is on there. here's some good ones

a screeshot from a media review app. the review reads:

WARNING

TalkLife is supposed to be a mental health app, but actually isn't. The admins hit on girls and support catfishes, pedophiles and scammers. Every post about removing bad behavior gets removes. Further they eran money with the misery off other people.

a screeshot from a media review app. the review reads:

This is not a mental health support app anymore!!!!

This app used to be a safe space for mental health support, but now it's a complete mess. Instead of focusing on user well-being, they're pushing a subscription model just so you can add more photos and boost your posts. It feels like a ploy to turn it into a popularity contest, rather than the support network it once was.

The community has become toxic, filled with creeps and bullies. It's like a dating app now, with people using it to flirt instead of offering genuine support. Worse, the admins don't seem to care at all, and I've even seen moderators flirting with users instead of addressing issues.

If you're here for real help, prepare to be disappointed. The lack of moderation and support makes it unsafe, especially for those seeking a judgment-free environment. It's sad to see what was once a great app become so poorly managed.

a screeshot from a media review app. the review reads:

A business based on your secrets

I was curious about this after my son told me about it and some bad experiences he'd had. He decided to stop using it but I wanted to know more because I work with young people and this sort of platform sounded very dangerous.

After reading a bit about it l'd be very worried what's being stored and linked to people's profiles kept by the company. Young people with problems shouldn't be a way of companies making profit - and the people who own this seem very keen on making money.

I also don't think it's very safe at all. Even for adults.

Twitter is bad enough but this thing is like a darker version.

Stay away from this. I'm sure we'll all be hearing about some scandal about people's data in future.

cw: suicide oh boy.......... jamie druitt you will never learn

a screenshot of an announcement on talklife. it reads,

From today, we will no longer allow any posts that discuss thoughts around suicidal ideation or intention, including explicit discussions, indirect statements, goodbye messages, abbreviations (e.g.,
"kms"), or any casual remarks, regardless of detail or graphic nature. These posts will be hidden from feeds and you will be shown signposting-options to crisis support partners.

a screenshot of an announcement on talklife. it reads,

Although TalkLife has never been a crisis support service, and our moderation has reflected this, we will now be further restricting posts related to suicide in any form. This includes discussions around wanting to die, feeling suicidal, or related themes. Previously, we allowed conversations about feelings without mention of actions or methods, but moving forward, such content will no longer be permitted.
