My next cross stitch project: the grim reaper watering a house plant, designed by Stitch Finch.
Cross-stitch work in progress on white Aida cloth in a green rectangular hoop, showing a partially stitched Grim Reaper figure with elongated limbs and raised arms in black and dark blue thread. Blue grid lines from pattern transfer are visible on the fabric. A mushroom-holding-a-knife enamel pin needle minder is clipped to the upper left of the hoop.

I realized I never shared the start of this cross stitch, but now I’ve finished it! Pattern by www.etsy.com/shop/MyLovel.... I love the color choices she made for this one, they blend so well.
Finished unframed cross-stitch embroidery on white Aida cloth depicting a heart-shaped arrangement of purple and lavender pansies with pink centers, small orange-tipped stamens, and green foliage. The blooms are densely packed and richly shaded, creating a lush, dimensional effect. The reverse side of the heart-shaped pansy cross-stitch on white Aida cloth, showing the underside of the dense purple, lavender, pink, and green stitching. The heart shape of the design remains clearly recognizable in reverse.

I took a break from my larger piece to do this cross stitch of Princess Donut while listening to A Parade of Horribles. You can’t tell in the photo, but the cloth is woven through with gold thread so it’s very sparkly. ✨ Pattern by Stellar Space Craft.
Finished cross-stitch embroidery on natural tan fabric depicting a sassy orange and red cat wearing large round purple sunglasses, a small pink crown, and a blue butterfly jeweled necklace. The cat is posed with attitude, tail curled to the side, outlined in black. Stitched in warm golds, reds, and purples.

I’m about 6% done with a pattern by Stitching Land. First time using 16ct aida, going fine so far.
Cross-stitch work in progress on white gridded Aida cloth in a white hoop, showing a partially stitched landscape scene with purple mountains, a tall orange tower or lighthouse, brown buildings, and layered yellow-green fields in the foreground. Scattered individual stitches extend beyond the main design as work continues outward. A silver tree-of-life needle minder is pinned to the upper left of the fabric.

I’ve started my next cross stitch project, a bookmark designed by TourmalinePattern. The needle minder is relevant.
A cross-stitch work in progress on royal blue Aida cloth in a plastic hoop held by an embroidery stand clamp, whose metal edge is visible in the top right corner. The design shows the early stages of a goose — a partially stitched head in white and dark thread with a gold beak beginning to take shape below. A goose-with-a-knife enamel pin needle minder holds a tapestry needle to the fabric nearby.

I’m about 75% done with this fairy house cross stitch designed by Flossy Fox Shop. Just had to move the hoop so I got a photo.
Unframed cross-stitch embroidery on pale mint fabric depicting a whimsical fairy or gnome home interior scene. Features a round hobbit-style window at center, shelves displaying small framed pictures and collectibles, red-capped mushrooms, a small bee or bug on a basket, a partially stitched walnut shell bed on the right, a striped oval rug at the bottom, and scattered sparkle stitches throughout. Rendered in warm browns, reds, teals, yellows, and greens on a white stitched background.

I’ve been on an Animal Crossing: New Horizons kick lately and I updated my dream after years of not changing it. If you visit, let me know, and share your dream address too! DA-1482-1207-0163
A bright, colorful scene from a life-simulation video game shows a seaside boardwalk set up like a small outdoor food and arcade area.

In the center stands a cartoon-style character with round glasses, a brown wide-brim hat, and a yellow plaid shirt. They’re positioned just behind a small café table set for two, which holds a plate of fish and fries with lemon and dipping sauces. The table is flanked by two teal metal chairs, and a decorative pole with blue-and-white pennant flags rises between them.

To the left is a compact ramen stall with a blue wave-patterned canopy. A bowl of ramen sits on the counter beside a cooking station, and a small signboard stands nearby.

Behind the character, on a raised wooden platform, is a row of colorful arcade machines and game cabinets, including a claw machine and other retro-style units with stools in front.

To the right, there’s a large pastel rainbow ice cream cone display next to another small stand. Balloons and string lights add to the festive atmosphere.

The whole setup sits along a sandy beach, with the ocean just out of frame at the bottom, giving the scene a relaxed, summery boardwalk vibe.A cozy outdoor café scene set on a raised cliff in Animal Crossing: New Horizons.

In the foreground, a player character sits in a cushioned chair at a small round wooden table under a cream-colored patio umbrella. On the table are a cup of coffee, a small potted plant, and a book, giving the space a relaxed, quiet vibe. The character wears round glasses, a brown wide-brim hat, and a yellow plaid shirt, facing slightly to the right as if enjoying a break.

The café area is bordered by a simple rope fence and laid with warm-toned brick flooring. Behind the character, two vending machines—one with snacks and one with drinks—stand side by side, adding a modern, urban touch.

Further back, there’s a small utility area with a locker, shelves, and a kiosk-style terminal. To the right, a street scene runs alongside the cliff edge: a red car, a blue scooter, and a delivery truck with a bold logo are parked near a curb. A lighthouse is visible in the distance, suggesting this area overlooks the coast.

The whole setup blends peaceful café seating with practical city elements, creating a compact, thoughtfully designed cliffside hangout.Screenshot from Animal Crossing: New Horizons showing a player character in a brown cowboy hat, yellow plaid shirt, and glasses sitting at an outdoor chess table on a brick patio. The cozy seating area is surrounded by tall pine trees, red roses, blue hyacinths, and stone landscaping. A waterfall and tiered cliffs are visible in the background alongside a river on the right.Screenshot from Animal Crossing: New Horizons showing a player character in a brown cowboy hat, glasses, and yellow plaid shirt standing in a wooden planter box beneath a large orange fruit tree near the town hall. Nearby decorations include an orange-themed juice dispenser, a carton of orange juice with a fruit on top, and pink flowering bushes. A white cat villager walks past on the right, a satellite dish is visible in the background, and black street lamps line a stone path to the left.

I finished the first part of the Caterpillar Cross Stitch stitch-along. Been listening to The Long Way to a Small, Angry Planet by Becky Chambers while I stitch.
A cross-stitch project in progress stretched inside a light purple embroidery hoop. The fabric is cream-colored Aida cloth.

The stitched design features three colorful birds perched on brown branches, surrounded by flowers and greenery. At the upper left is a small pink flower. Below it sits a bright parrot in green, yellow, blue, and orange. On the right branch is a bird with a warm brown chest and gray-and-black wings. At the bottom center is a blue-and-white bird with darker blue accents.

Red, pink, and white flowers with green leaves fill the spaces between the birds. Along the outer edge, a decorative white stitched border is partially completed, forming a soft, scalloped frame around the scene. In the upper right corner of the hoop is a small black needle minder shaped like a round character wearing a top hat. Sunlight casts a diagonal shadow across the right side of the fabric, highlighting the texture of the stitches.

Fascinated by this context mixing by ChatGPT. It knows I live in Nashville. I have a thread where I only ask it questions about the game Oxygen Not Included, here about the material I should use for building something. It mentions Nashville as if where I live is relevant to my game colony!
A smartphone screenshot of the ChatGPT app in dark mode. The screen shows a response about using tempshift plates around coal generators, stating that igneous rock is the best all-around choice. Below the heading “Why igneous rock works so well,” several bullet points are visible, including good thermal conductivity, high specific heat, abundance early game, and that it doesn’t melt or complicate things.

Part of one bullet point is highlighted in blue selection handles, specifically the phrase referencing “Nashville-style sandstone/igneous starts.” An overlay near the center shows options like “Ask ChatGPT” and “Copy.”

At the top status bar, the time reads 9:24, the phone shows full signal and 100% battery. The ChatGPT header and icons (menu, edit, profile) are visible, with the text partially cut off toward the bottom as if the user is scrolling.

My current work in progress is of an aquarium scene designed by Aliton Embroidery. My needle minder is from Caterpillar Cross Stitch.
A cross-stitch aquarium scene on deep blue Aida cloth. On the left is a pink coral shape with small white bubble-like dots around it. On the right is a red sea cucumber with green fronds. Below and slightly left is the beginning of an orange fish, partially stitched. A birdhouse-shaped needle minder with a blue bird is pinned near the top right of the fabric.

I finished a seasonally appropriate cross stitch today! It felt like this one took forever because I kept giving my arm and wrist rest. Pattern designed by Flossy Fox Shop.
It’s a completed autumn-themed pixel-style cross-stitch stitched on tan Aida fabric. The scene is arranged in a lively, circular composition full of small seasonal motifs, all outlined in black for a crisp, graphic look.

At the center:
	•	A gray-black cat sitting upright with little sparkles around it.
	•	A large pumpkin to the left.
	•	A crow perched above the pumpkin.
	•	A red mushroom with a beige stem.
	•	A candy corn–colored witch hat or whimsical hat with a green garland and a crescent moon detail.
	•	A mug of something warm, decorated like a candy corn.

Above the crow and mushroom:
	•	An open book or journal with colorful marks, as if it’s a spellbook or autumn sketchbook.

All around the border:
	•	Scattered fall leaves in reds, yellows, oranges, and browns.
	•	Tiny acorns, mushrooms, berries, sparkles, apples, and pumpkins.
	•	The border feels loose and floating, like bits of autumn swirling around the central motifs.

The whole piece has a cozy, magical, October vibe with strong pixel-art influences and bright, cheerful colors. The neat backside of a cross stitch on tan Aida cloth.

I finished a small cross stitch today. Design by Max Pigeon from his book Cross-Stitch in the Forest. Love the texture of the sky and the absence of floss to make the trees.
This image shows a piece of cross-stitch embroidery on black fabric. The stitched design is a stylized landscape divided into two rectangular panels separated by the trunk of a black tree.

The background features a gray and light blue sky with darker gray clouds. Below that, there are orange-brown shapes resembling autumn foliage or shrubs. At the bottom, a band of blue and white repeating wave-like patterns suggests water. The overall composition gives the impression of a tree by a lake or river on a cloudy autumn day.Back of a finished cross stitch on black aida cloth.

This image shows a cross-stitch work in progress depicting a cup of Thai iced tea with ghostly faces swirling in the drink, giving it a whimsical, slightly eerie feel. The piece is held in a tan embroidery hoop, and a lemon-shaped needle minder is attached to the upper left of the fabric. The cross-stitching is detailed, with shades of brown, caramel, and cream creating depth and texture in the tea.

I'm about 40% through stitching a design by Aliton Embroidery. I've had to adjust some floss colors to suit the light brown aida cloth I'm using; I may end up frogging that pink text and using a darker pink.
This image shows a cross-stitch project in progress, stretched inside a purple square embroidery frame. The design features colorful text listing Hobbit-style meals (“BREAKFAST,” “2ND BREAKFAST,” “ELEVENSES,” “LUNCHEON,” “AFTERNOON,” “DINNER,” and “SUPPER”) with a large stitched floral vine along the left side. The vine includes green leaves, small yellow and red blossoms, and two larger red flowers at the top. A turquoise needle minder with a black design rests near the word “2ND BREAKFAST.”

I got my cross stitch pattern book from the Witchy Stitcher today! 🖤 I think I'll do a bookmark pattern from it first.
This is a photo of a book titled “Witchy Stitching: 25 Patterns to Haunt Your Home” by Meg Black, creator of The Witchy Stitcher.

The book cover has a gothic, spooky aesthetic with ghost illustrations around the edges. The central image, framed in ornate black trim, shows a cross-stitch pattern of a haunted Victorian-style house surrounded by bats, bare trees, and a crescent moon. The background is a textured, linen-like fabric, enhancing the eerie and handmade feel.

I'm working on another glitchy cross stitch. Pattern by ArtByRomShop.
This photo shows a piece of cross-stitch embroidery in progress, held in a lavender-colored hoop.

The design features a glitched, pixelated computer pop-up window with the text “Are you okay?” in black letters. The surrounding imagery includes fragmented, glitch-like patterns in dark blue, purple, yellow, and black, resembling digital distortion or a broken image.

At the top left of the hoop is a decorative pin shaped like a little white creature wearing a red mushroom cap.

I finished Homer backing into the bushes! Pattern by Borealis Stitch. #CrossStitch
This is a piece of cross-stitch embroidery on bright green fabric. The stitched design depicts Homer Simpson from The Simpsons, partially disappearing into the green background, referencing the popular “Homer backing into the bushes” meme. Only the front half of Homer is visible, outlined in black with yellow for his skin, white for his shirt, blue for his pants, and brown for his mouth area. The green background is unstitched fabric, so Homer appears to blend into it. The fabric edges are taped with an off-white material to prevent fraying. The piece is laid on a surface with a patterned yellow, blue, and white textile beneath it.

Needed a name tag, and it finally let me do a cross stitch I didn't have to iron afterward! Used plant patterns from the Stardew Valley cross stitch book. Font pattern by Happy Sloth Cross Stitch I believe.
This image shows a handmade name badge inside a clear plastic holder with a retractable clip attached. The badge features cross-stitch embroidery on light-colored perforated plastic. The name “Sarah” is stitched in dark red thread in a decorative font. Below the name, there are two dark blue and green plants flanking a small golden pumpkin with green vines. The whole design is bordered by a dashed green line. The badge rests on a yellow fabric with a bold floral print in white, blue, and pink.

I started this #CrossStitch designed by Night Spirit Studio back in June 2024, worked on it off and on for the last year, and just finished today. It was really fun stitching all the rooms! I still hate backstitching though.
This image shows a completed cross-stitch piece on dark fabric, depicting a colorful cross-section of a house. The circular design reveals multiple levels:
	•	Top floor: An attic with a small window and possibly a storage or seasonal area.
	•	Second level: Bedrooms and a study—there’s a red bedroom, a green bathroom, and a cozy library or reading nook with a bookshelf.
	•	Middle floor: Living areas—a yellow kitchen, a dining room in red, and a blue living room with a fireplace and red couch.
	•	Basement: A gray storage area with stairs, crates, and shelves.
	•	Bottom layer: A dirt-colored underground space with buried bones—possibly suggesting a pet area or a spooky twist.

The whole piece is full of charming pixel-art-style details in bright, saturated colors.A black piece of aida cloth in a blue square hoop. The piece has a few red and black cross stitches on it. There is an orange gummy bear needle minder.

Finished a small #CrossStitch as a palate cleanser between bigger projects. Designer is Cross Stitch Mini.
This photo shows a small cross-stitch project, laid flat on a colorful fabric background. The stitched section is a rectangular scene depicting a windmill with large black blades set against a sky with light blue and white clouds. Below the windmill are bright, colorful stripes suggesting a vibrant field—likely flowers or crops—with reds, yellows, greens, and purples. A ripe yellow banana with brown speckles and a blue Chiquita sticker is placed above the stitching for scale.

I'm currently working on Island Town by Stitching Land. I love the colors. #CrossStitch
This image showcases a cross-stitch project in progress, featuring a highly detailed and colorful design of a whimsical, multi-story house or building with an intricate architectural style. The structure appears to be a fusion of different elements, with sections resembling timber-framed houses, towers, and possibly even a treehouse-like aesthetic. The colors include warm tones of red, yellow, and brown, along with cool shades of blue and green, creating a balanced and visually appealing palette.

The cross-stitch is being worked on white Aida fabric, held in place by a plastic embroidery frame. A small decorative needle minder in the shape of a chocolate doughnut, is positioned in the top right corner. The stitching is detailed, with different textures and shading techniques used to bring depth and dimension to the design. Some areas remain unfinished, suggesting that more details are yet to be added.

Surrounding the main design are small decorative elements such as hearts, stars, and tombstones.

A small decorative needle minder in the shape of a stylized skeleton cat with pink eyes and floral details is attached to the fabric, adding a whimsical touch. The stitching appears neat and precise, and the piece is illuminated by natural lighting, highlighting its vibrant colors.

Another couple of #CrossStitch finishes. Patterns designed by Cross Stitch with Art and The Stitch Patterns, respectively.
This is a cross-stitch piece featuring a humorous saying surrounded by decorative floral and animal motifs. The text in the center reads:
“NOT MY PASTURE NOT MY BULLSHIT.”

The design includes:
	•	A border of red flowers with yellow centers and green leaves arranged symmetrically.
	•	Two bull heads in dark brown thread, with red accents for the eyes and nostrils, flanking the text on either side. This is a cross-stitch representation of Vincent van Gogh’s “The Starry Night” in a compact, stylized format.

Key details include:
	•	Bright yellow stars and a moon against a swirling blue night sky, capturing the iconic motion of the original painting.
	•	A dark cypress tree extending vertically on the left, standing out against the vivid background.
	•	Rolling green hills and a hint of buildings or landscape at the bottom.

The piece showcases a simplified yet recognizable version of the masterpiece, with vibrant colors and detailed stitching to bring it to life.

I'm so excited, my Bisley cabinet arrived today and I was able to get all my embroidery floss organized in it. Much nicer than the multiple bins I was using before. I got the custom foam bobbin holders from MisfitIsle on Etsy. #CrossStitch
This photo shows a green metal Bisley storage cabinet with five drawers. Each drawer has a chrome handle with a label indicating a range of numbers. The labels are handwritten with different colors:
	1.	Top drawer: “001 - 500” (gray and green text)
	2.	Second drawer: “501 - 798” (green and blue text)
	3.	Third drawer: “800 - 976” (blue and orange text)
	4.	Fourth drawer: “977 - 3829” (orange text)
	5.	Bottom drawer: “3831 - MISC” (red and black text)

The cabinet itself has a retro-industrial aesthetic with a vibrant green color. This photo shows an open drawer of a green Bisley storage cabinet, revealing a neatly organized collection of embroidery floss. The floss is wound around white plastic bobbins, each labeled with a number, corresponding to a specific color of DMC embroidery floss. The bobbins are arranged in a black foam insert, keeping them upright and separated for easy access.

The floss colors range across a wide spectrum, including:
	•	Whites, grays, and browns
	•	Soft pastels like pinks and lavenders
	•	Bright and vivid reds, oranges, and yellows
	•	Blues and greens in various shades

This organization system helps keep embroidery supplies tidy and accessible, making it easy to find specific colors for cross-stitch or other needlework projects.

It is surrounded by a crescent moon, stars, and an arched border with intricate patterns in black, gold, and gray. Smoky wisps curl from the chimney, adding an eerie atmosphere.

At the bottom, the text reads, “TURN YOUR BACK TO THE FOREST YOUR FRONT TO ME,” written in a stylized manner that fits the dark fairytale theme. The design combines folklore-inspired imagery with a spooky, mystical aesthetic, set against a cream-colored fabric background. The black wooden frame adds to the overall dramatic presentation.

Backstitching can make so much difference in #CrossStitch. Finished this miniature Matisse painting piece that really benefits from it. Pattern by TheStitchPatterns on Etsy.

A few recent #CrossStitch finishes of mine. Patterns by StemStitch, CraftyQueerDesigns, and Aliton Embroidery, respectively.
Cross stitch of the planet Neptune, blue thread on black aida clothThis image showcases a completed cross-stitch project inspired by medieval tapestry style, featuring humorous text and imagery. The design includes the phrase:

“Behold! The Field In Which I Grow My Fucks. Lay Thine Eyes Upon It – And Thou Shalt See That It Is Barren.”

The text is written in a medieval-style font, adding to the historical aesthetic. The scene depicts a medieval figure in a green tunic and cape dramatically gesturing toward an empty field, emphasizing the humor of the barren field. Additional characters, including two people observing from the side, and a small house with a tree (on which a bird is perched), add detail and charm to the scene. The background fabric has a mottled, parchment-like texture that enhances the vintage appearance.

This piece humorously juxtaposes modern language with a medieval art style, creating a playful and whimsical effect. This image showcases a completed cross-stitch project with a humorous and slightly dark tone. The design features the following text, stitched in a bold, black font:

“WARNING
This is proof
I have the patience
to stab something
1,000 times”

The text is surrounded by a decorative floral wreath made of lavender and purple flowers with green leaves, stitched in vibrant shades. Two small skulls are integrated into the design, one at the top center and another at the bottom center of the wreath, adding a cheeky, gothic flair to the otherwise delicate floral pattern.

This cross-stitch combines humor with artistry, playfully referencing the effort and repetitive nature of stitching.

I cannot dismiss this Manage Badge thing in iOS Mail, it will not go away, and while I swear I was able to click "Learn more" before and it did something, now tapping it does nothing. 😭 It's also not very accessible as it cuts off text without letting me scroll to read the rest of the title.

Progress pic of one of my #CrossStitch pieces while I wait for materials to come in to finish another. Pattern by The Retro Stitcher on Etsy. Gonna be glitchy when it's done.
This photo shows a cross-stitch project in progress on black fabric, placed in a wooden embroidery hoop. The design features a grayscale marble bust of a man on the left side, rendered in detailed shading. To the right of the face, colorful abstract shapes and streaks in bright hues—blue, yellow, pink, and red—appear to extend dynamically, creating a vivid contrast against the monochromatic portrait and black background.

The vibrant colors suggest an artistic and modern theme, blending realism with abstract expression. Some portions of the design are incomplete, with visible areas yet to be stitched. The black fabric enhances the contrast of the colors, making the details stand out prominently. This project has a striking, contemporary aesthetic.

I ran out of DMC 898 with only a few letters to go in my current project. Have to wait for a 123 Stitch order to arrive now! #CrossStitch
This image shows a work-in-progress cross-stitch piece in a beige plastic embroidery hoop. The text being stitched reads: “And Tho Shall See _ It Is Barr” with some letters missing. The text is stitched in a dark brown thread on a light-colored fabric aida cloth.

To the left of the hoop, part of a stitched design is visible. A yellow clip is holding the excess fabric, keeping it out of the way. A turquoise floral needle minder is attached to the fabric, providing a place to keep the needle secure while not in use.
