Sketched another one. Always liked Donny. While everyone else was piggin about, he was always tackling the problems. #sketch #sketchbook #turtle #tmnt #teenagemutantninjaturtles #procreate #digital

45 years since that rotten old Empire struck back. My Dad told me recently he had to take me out of the 4th or 5th showing of the film that he’d taken me to because I kept loudly stating ‘Got him! Need him! Haven’t got him yet!’. I still do that. #starwars #starwarsfanart

Good Lord, I’m really enjoying s2 of #andor It’s climbing the charts of my favourite shows of all time. There’s a shot in ep.6 of Kleya simply turning to camera that’s one of the most beautiful shots I’ve ever seen. Anyway, here’s an old sketch I did when s1 arrived. #starwars #disneyplus #sketch

I keep seeing a bunch of lovely #firefly art in my feeds this week, so I’ve dug out an old piece from a few years back so it looks like I’m still cool. ‘I am a leaf on the wind…’ #serenity #drawing #sketch #digital #yeehaa

A little detail from a piece I have in the upcoming Ultraman Art Book from the good folks at @printedinblood.bsky.social - which will be hitting Kickstarter today I believe, over at ULTRAMANBOOKS.com Drawing the big fella was a real treat as my son is a big fan & I like it when I look cool to him. 🙂

What do you do to relax after a long day of work? I draw. Which, considering my job is drawing, may sound weird. I find drawing something just for myself quite therapeutic. And nothing is more relaxing than drawing this murderous scoundrel. #predator #sketch #procreate #drawing

I seem to be gathering followers at a nice pace - & not all from my industry either, which is nice. Anyway, I figured I’d introduce myself after a year & a half on this platform :) My name is Dave & I make comics with The God of Horror, John Carpenter. I also draw the odd poster, eat food & sleep.

After bagging all the Games for a measly £10 in the Black Friday sale, I’ve started playing through Mass Effect again. I think I was born to aimlessly wander digital planetary landscapes in a Mako, doing jumps off mountains. Here’s a Normandy I drew cos that ship ROCKS. #masseffect #normandy #art

You know what’s made this app easier to migrate over to from the other one? I put the icon for this one where the Twitter icon was on my phone. I’ve hardly touched Twitter since. GOD, I’m so simple.

Been struggling with opening files in Photoshop all day. Turns out, Adobe went ahead and changed my preferences for auto-updating and downloaded the newest version, which slowed my old MacBook to a crawl. Cheers Adobe. Yet another reason I’ll be bailing the second Procreate goes desktop.

Blimey. Totally forgot I’d drawn this. Just stumbled across it after a mild rummage in the infinite archives. I wonder what other things await me in my digital past? /finds six folders full of monkeys wearing clothes

When working away from the large Cintiq at home, I dig out the 13” version, which is fantastic for setting up in a little corner somewhere. It also reminds me that I need to make that optician appointment, cos this whole thing is a goddamn blur. Stupid detailed panels. #makingcomics

The character vs how you drew the character. Feels like every artist has had a pop at drawing #joker. Took me 3 years to find a pose I hadn’t already seen. This is the amalgamated Joker in my head - part Cesar Romero, part Nicholson, part Miller & a bunch of other influences.

Thought Bubble is an invaluable investment in positive mental health. 3 days in the company of people who also make art is like that bit in Avengers when Thor hits Iron Man with lightning and he gets a 400% charge. I’ll be there again next year. If I can beat those restraining orders, that is.

Here is another Bluesky drawing post for no other reason than I seem to be really enjoying Bluesky. My drawing of that most glorious of ships - The Normandy from Mass Effect. Probably flew through a blue sky or two in it’s time. #masseffect #drawing #fanart #normandy

Guess I should be making a little more effort over in this neck of the internet woods. Think it’s been more than a year since my last post. In my defence, a year goes REALLY fast at my age. Anyway, here’s a scribble I did for a friend of mine.

Had a wonderful day today, drawing Greek Gods with kids at the 'Return of the Gods' exhibition in @worldmuseum_ Liverpool. Using our book, @stormkingcomics "Fetch" as a starting point, I watched in awe as the kids redesigned the Gods, gave them rocket boots & even drew them facetiming their mum.

This Wed, why not bring the kids along to @worldmuseum_ Liverpool. I’ll be drawing the Greek Gods to celebrate the museum’s awesome ‘Return of the Gods’ exhibition. Join in and enter the draw to win a copy of our book from @stormkingcomics - Fetch! Sessions are 10:30am and 1:30pm. See you there!

Thanks to everyone at #stockportcomiccon who stopped by to look at my art and slowly realised they’d been snared in the conversational web of an artist who doesn’t get out much. Was a pleasure to meet you all.
