Cochlear implants and spatial hearing: Enabling access to the next dimension of hearing.

CherISH started on March 1, 2024. It has a term of 4 years. Since September 2024, a total of 12 students in 7 countries have been working on improving spatial hearing in cochlear implant users. Best wishes and much success with this endeavor!

Cochlear implants (CI) can restore hearing in the deaf. Yet, spatial hearing, crucial for attention control and speech understanding in noise has been ignored in designing implants and rehabilitation programs. Using a patient-centred, multidisciplinary approach, CherISH improves hearing in CI-users.
