She wanted to wait, she felt that she could give birth vaginally. It's possible she could have, but it's also likely once the baby actually showed some stress She would have made the decision to have a C-section. But will never know because that right to choose was taken away from her.

I don't know if you understand the history of medicalization of birth. her particular history made her a huge risk for another C-section. c-sections are not conducive to a baby's health. Labor can take an extraordinary amount of time.

You're missing the point dude. She was robbed of the ability to make her own decision if and when things went bad, which clearly they hadn't yet. There was no need to force her into a decision before a decision needed to be made. Which she was capable of making.

She has expertise. She is a doula. She understood and knew the risks and benefits of vaginal versus cesarean birth. She knew what they were pushing on her from the get-go. She was fully prepared, educated, and exhibited excellent critical thinking.

3 hours in a zoom hearing, no fetal or maternal distress emergency seen! in fact, she was cognizant, eloquent. The tracings of the baby were stable. She wasn't given the opportunity to make a decision for herself, and may have decided, on her own, that she required a C-section. Orwellian.
