The past few years I’ve seen evidence of cruelty in chicken on supermarket shelves from Lilydale chicken. Bruises, broken bones, some protruding the meat and even an abscess which was revolting. I’m now rethinking what farm/producer to buy from. It WAS the only affordable meat we could buy.

Just checking the weather and gave myself a heart attack. Then I realised I was looking at Mount Buller (Alpine) not Melbourne. 🙄 Not that I wouldn’t love proper cold weather, but I just planted out my chickpeas, Giant Sunflowers and peanuts. They do not like frosty conditions.

Dinner tonight was salmon, which I don’t usually buy for ethical reasons, but mum really missed it so I gave in this once. Baked with Dijon mustard. White asparagus pan fried in butter and lemon. Kipflir potatoes par boiled then baked. Beige looking, but the garden dill. Delicious though.
