Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 30/12/2024Umar Hansa was my go-to on devtools for years. You can Cmd+F "Devtools" here and find some real gems umaar.com/dev-tips/. It looks like he created a paid course moderndevtools.com too, which I may take now that I know about it! Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 30/12/2024As soon as you posted it I was like "this thing is going straight to the moon" 120
Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 21/12/2024Was very excited to see this amazing piece of work by @samwho.dev come together It's always so impressive to see people take a pretty academic topic like Turing machines and make them so accessible. Awesome visualizations and writing. Well done! 290
Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 19/12/2024First time I thought about it but it's less than a week! So wild 120
Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 18/12/2024I'm in absolute disbelief this messaging is resonating anywhere given how obviously terrible the job market is for new engineers 010
Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 18/12/2024Haven’t tried today but I go through periods with Cursor where the tab autocomplete repeatedly just offers to delete whatever line I’m writing It can be very finicky 010
Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 18/12/2024Some good replies and articles in the thread. If you're interested in a deeper look, I'd highly recommend @samwho.dev's article, which has some great visualizations of how they work and how to design an effective one samwho.dev/bloom-filters/samwho.devBloom FiltersA visual, interactive guide to what bloom filters are, when you would use them, and how they work. 051
Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 17/12/2024I only know about them because I was asked about them once on a tech interview, bombed, and went to look it up after. Really cool to see it out in the wild (and to learn more about it from your post) 020

Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 14/12/2024I spent about an hour trying to grasp this new feature yesterday and decided to give up and revisit, and your 10-min demo helped clear up most of my confusion. Thanks for this! Looking forward to the rest of the seris! 100
Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 14/12/2024Really impressed by your consistency! I already dropped off on Day 10 000
Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 14/12/2024Of course! It seems ridiculous to have to say this, but I love being able to share links of cool stuff I find on a social media platform without getting downranked into oblivion 000
Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 14/12/2024Congrats on finishing Zuzana! I found you the day you posted your “Some dreams…” post, and have appreciated the realness and honesty in your writing. Mike Chen @chenmike.com · 13/12/2024Thanks Brittany! It's interesting, I do tend to have a ton to say about Big Tech but I rarely write about it. Not wanting to bite the hand that fed me and all that. Maybe I'll reconsider whether I should change that next year! 010
