#ChatChemistry start with “all bonds are electrostatic attractions” then define the positive and negative “particle” of each toe of bond. Keep reminding the about “opposites attract”. Distinguish between “what” a bond is from “how” it is formed

#@ChatChemistry we have quite strict H&S protocols and each HoD is responsible for their areas. We have half termly H&S committee meetings which I sit on. Wkly dept meeting has H&S item.

#ChatChemistry sadly time is so tight (2hrs a week! 3sciences) some content e.g atmosphere is left and taught as KS4. Yr 9 is KS3 PoS but taught as required by GCSE.

#ChatChemistry this year I am trying story boards for each bond starting from atoms all the way to structure (simple/giant) then melting/boiling. Each stage has correct name of particles and force of attraction/bond. Let’s see if it hells
