another round of monthly favorites! i didn't consume much this month, but i did read the entire Silo trilogy by @hughhowey.com and can finally finish Silo Season 2 #monthlyfavorites

a background picture of my desk with text that reads "february monthly favorites: books, games, movies, shows”

the covers for the books Wool, Shift, and Dust by Hugh Howey with text that reads “The remnants of humanity live in an underground silo, where they are forbidden to speak of the outside. But when the sheriff decides to go outside, the truth begins to unravel.” and “This series explores the extremes of human curiosity and the desperation for survival. It’s also a show on Apple TV!”

There is no worse feeling than being over-encumbered in a Video Game.

a round-up of my january favorites, which honestly got me through this absurd month #monthlyfavorites

a picture of the game “fallout: new vegas” with text: my first Fallout game, get ready to scavenge the nuclear wasteland in this classic action RPG. this game is MASSIVE, and your choices can change the trajectory of the story. i now understand why this game is so beloved and replayed.

the bookcover of “bloodmarked” byt tracy deonn with text: Bree navigates her grief of losing her mother and stumbles upon a medieval Arthurian mage society, while discovering magic prowess of her own. this is the 2nd book in the Legendborn series, and really solid overall! it had some fantastic twists and turns and high-stakes pacing

a picture of the game “sea of stars” with text: Children of the Solstice can harness Eclipse magic, which is the only force powerful enough to stop the evil alchemist known as the Fleshmancer. i haven’t been a fan of turn-based RPGs, but this was a solid story to get lost in. the music and art are fantastic, too!

a poster of the movie “high school musical 3” with text: honestly such a masterpiece, my jaw was on the floor the entire movie. idk why i haven’t watched this movie until now, but i formally apologize to my teenage self for withholding this experience from her.

people will speak about a game they played as a kid with the same reverence that they might a great song or novel, about how it engrossed them totally and completely. They may even tear up talking about it. and then you ask what game it was and it was Spongebob battle for bikini bottom

Hello Kitty Island Adventure sounds so fun but I've already been burned getting a game on release day (I'm looking at you MySims....) Maybe I'll just wait and see if a physical version will get released 🤔 Thoughts?

#Booksky: If you haven’t already, export your data from Goodreads (an Amazon company) and import it into StoryGraph, a book-tracking app founded and led by a Black woman.

Why do my Threads previews only range from a curiosity of an unfinished thought to making me feel bad about myself for things I haven't done..?

It's finally here 🎉 I got perfection in Stardew Valley! I've been working on this series for a year, and it's a huge relief to put this project to rest. I've learned a ton through the process, but the biggest is to not commit to something this massive anytime soon 😅 youtu.be/xhvRRstunMA

I'm a new-ish content creator, & as the year comes to a close, I'd like to share some reflections from my first 3 months: 1. Commitment & consistency have pushed me to create and ideate regularly, which have been affirming in my audience growth, but more so proving that i can show up for myself

Watched Interstellar in IMAX for the first time this past weekend and had a 3-hour out of body experience. There's something special about sharing that with hundreds of strangers

Review of "The Return of the Obra Dinn" (spoiler free) A fantastic deductive reasoning game! Uncovering the stories and motives onboard was satisfying. There were challenging parts, but not to the point of quitting (for me personally). The horror-esque moments did make it hard to sleep 🥲 5/5 stars

Still figuring out what lane to designate Bluesky as a content creator, and I've landed on sharing my game reviews as I finish playing them. If you're into random musings about games, then I'd love to have you!

I know a game is becoming one of my favorites when I can't stop thinking about it even after I beat it. I just finished "The Return of the Obra Dinn" and I'm still in awe of the whole experience and wanna stay immersed in the story for as long as possible

I'm honestly intimidated having another social media account to think about as a new content creator (esp since I haven't used 🐥🧵), but being here has already made me laugh in 5 minutes, so I'm taking this as a good sign.
