Mine is pretty on target given the things that have been purchased over the years. Never had an Alexa or anything similar.

I felt like I apologized A LOT in early 2025 when I was in Europe.

Been to Europe twice, but not yet to Italy. Thoroughly enjoyed both trips though and hope to go back again.

As a STEM major, I loved many of my ”out of major” classes. Although I also contemplated a history degree early on but had no idea what sort of job to get with one except teacher for which I would be horrible.

Okay, but as a FL voter, I hear all the time how great our system is and how everyone should copy us. I know you need ID, signature match, and to request mail ballots each time to vote so that didn’t fix it. How did FL officials with the perfect system allow this to happen?🤔

As if having Scott and Moody weren’t bad enough. I really don’t want to claim any more of these yahoos.

I think that also applies to lumping all college students together. My college experience was a lot different than a lot of people I knew. The idea that I should try & absentee vote in a place I no longer lived did not make sense for me. My address was where I lived which was no longer my hometown.

I don’t think all colleges/college towns are the same. Or at least weren’t 25 yrs ago for me. I lived in an adjacent town and used their parks, library, etc. Never set foot in college gym in 4yrs. Had full time job & didn’t go home for breaks once I moved off campus. Hometown was in the past for me.

My youngest is in 3rd and would see it now if it was out. Heck my teen might watch it, tho prob not at a theater. But they want to wait for streaming for all movies.

For me that hometown was a place I visited occasionally. I worked full time thru college & was just as invested there as I was where I had grown up. I was 21-24 when I was away at college. My life never revolved around campus. I never went to a party. If I went out, it was town nearby w/ coworkers.

I‘d totally go to the theater on my own. No shame.

I’m of two minds. I started out that way but halfway through moved out of the dorms into an apartment to keep my job and switched everything over at that point. Full time job and full time school made it so much easier to just have everything set up where I spent prob 95% of my time.

I didn’t vote for Obama, but was fine that he was President. I voted for Kasich in the 2016 Primary, Clinton in the general, and changed my party affiliation to D after the election. I have switched back & forth since b/c many local elections are decided by the R primary and I vote against MAGA.

I definitely do. Didn’t even realize what it was when I was younger. Grew up in the South but w one parent from the Midwest & another from all over. Lived in a touristy area & worked w people from lots of places. Groups w less education & more. My speech adapts often to fit the group & setting.

Grew up in evangelical circles in the South in the 80s/90s. Very much my experience.

It’s a tiny town outside Clemson. And now I wonder what it was Central to back in the day. The road names up there can be fun because in one town/city it is named for the town/city that it connects to and then reverses in the other.

Chelle Belle @chellbelle39.bsky.social · 10/07/2026
My husband isn’t always great with directions and the kids would correct his route from a young age. I think my parents must have started quizzing me around town before I started driving. I know on road trips we had maps in the backseat and we looked for routes, but not so much at home.

They’ve walked to the store before too. It’s actually just a bit farther than their old elementary school that they did bike to/from. I think it’s just more that they’ve never had to think much about it.

Chelle Belle @chellbelle39.bsky.social · 10/07/2026
True. But I’m also not sure they’ve paid any attention in recent years while being chauffeured around. lol Tempted to make them study Google Maps like I studied paper maps back in the day. Maybe plan a route without using the point-to-point directions. Navigating is a good skill to know.

Yep. I notice it with my newly driving teen. They have no idea how to get anywhere. Leaving the neighborhood to go to the store, “which way do I turn?” How have you never paid attention to anywhere we’ve driven? They could however direct a driver to the park when they were in preschool, but now?

I’ve been a reader since elementary school by and large but had mostly switched to audiobooks in recent years. Recently wanted one that wasn’t available on audio at the library. Put the ebook on my phone and read it one weekend instead of just reading news and doomscrolling. Planning to continue.

My parents took care of my grandfather in the same house for years but they still used hospice at the end. It was good for everyone and they never regretted the choice.

Thanks for the reminder. Time to check primary ballots to see which I want to vote in this time in my closed primary state.

Floridian who has their thermostat programmed for 79 during the day and 76 for about 8hrs overnight through most of the year. Dropping a bit at night helps the overall humidity situation in the swamp here. Electric bill is reasonable compared to so many around me.

I’m pretty sure a lot of people in my family history could be tagged as being on the spectrum now. Instead we’ve just all been known as the oddballs or nerds.

I once had google AI give me the final score of a high school football game before kick off. It sounded very sure of the details. They were unsurprisingly inaccurate. I’m getting better at remembering to put -ai at the end of every search.

The mail worries me, but more so that they won’t think my signature matches close enough or I’ll make a mistake in some part of the process with envelopes or filling something out. Early voting for me.

I have some MAGA/Fox family members who now think 60 Minutes and CBS news are biased and won’t watch them any more. 🤣

That’s what a lot of kids near me ride. So many don’t have pedals or seem to require pedaling & they fly. I see wheelies on roads, running stop signs/red lights, donuts in grass/sports fields, etc. It‘s horrible. Can’t wait for better laws or enforcement. Several kids have been injured or died.

Reminds me of all the “but the size of his campaign rallies” talk after 2020. No one in my family has ever to my knowledge been to a campaign rally and yet we have voted in many, many elections.

My evangelical upbringing taught me they weren’t Christian. But also that the greatest thing about this country is that we are free to worship as we believe. Can’t imagine what changed. 🤷‍♀️

My area neighborhood feed suggests they think getting rid of taxes won’t impact anything at all except they won’t have to pay them. 😔

It reminds me a lot of what I remember of the BJU history books of my 80s/90s Christian school. Though I don‘t recall as much “Christian nation” stuff b/c Founding Fathers were not really evangelical so we didn’t learn that. I got “worship as you please” as the thru line of the founding.

Another reason I really want to retire somewhere “not the South”. I’ve had enough of it in my lifetime. Sensible sounds so nice.

Bluey is awesome. There was a point where my teen and young elementary kid were watching it all the time with me. As a parent of a certain age, I appreciated the “back in the 80s” references. We loved PBS kids too. Sad they’ve grown out of them and moved to YouTube gaming.

No. He just squeaked out a victory in 2018 and then we got swarmed with “covid refugees” who think he gave us the “free state of FLORIDA”. Of course they also hate all the development happening now since they got here.
