It clearly says it's from PollCheck 🙃 Still no deceit. The whole post is urging people to vote. Not sure which bit if that you're taking umbrage with but you do you.

I find it "interesting" that news outlets keep saying "students" rather than "school kids" or "pupils". It took me a day to realise these aren't university students. These are children. Protesting. And being beaten by police. Like... 😳

Ikr. I'm watching the DVD extras now. All the one take filming in the house and on a movie train etc 😯 Apparently the entire production was so tense because of the one-shot method lol

Had to finish High and Low tonight. It really is a masterpiece of cinematography. The iconic sunglasses. Is this the first use of mirrored sunglasses? And how! The club scene is tremendous. The haunting addicts neighbourhood. Every ensemble scene. The hunt through the city. Just 🤌🏼

The blocking really is something else...

Tonight's film is... High and Low (1963). It's Kurosawa and I came across it a while ago when doing some research on blocking and this was used as a great example.

Also calling Star Wars "men and machines" and completely failing to see it's science fantasy, in the same sentence where he says the next stage is fantasy (AFTER Star Wars) 🙃🫠 The wrongness is too much to take. It's like random bloke in pub says things about films and books he's never seen or read.

041

Chella Ramanan 🇬🇩 @chellaramanan.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

My theory too. Because otherwise has he seen any films? 😅

030

Chella Ramanan 🇬🇩 @chellaramanan.bsky.social · 24/09/2026

I guess he's seen Mamma Mia? I haven't because I hate ABBA but it looks romance vibes. She did one with Jack Nicholson yonks ago but she's no Meg Ryan in the romance department 😅 French Lieutenant's Woman?

I'm on Ep 2 of 30 Rock and I'm yet to laugh. Alec Baldwin's character is the only light so far. I've heard it's good. Is it one of those "skip the first season" situations?

S2 is a different take on the theme and I'm fine with that. It feels a bit White Lotus maybe because of the setting. The writing is really great though. I like how it slips into these surreal moments too. But the Achilles heel monologue from Josh is so good 🔥

I was too. But then I watched Frankenstein and this popped up afterwards and I was like "more Oscar Isaac. With added Carey Mulligan. What's not to love!?!" I can't remember S1 that well tbh. But I liked it. And I like this I mean it's not like it'll erase S1 if you watch it 🤷🏿

Watching Beef S2. I delayed because I'd heard it isn't good. I'm loving it. Just really messy people being messy and awful but sometimes sympathetic and vulnerable. It's not as contained as S1 but I'm still thoroughly engaged. The cast is 🤌🏼

010

Chella Ramanan 🇬🇩 @chellaramanan.bsky.social · 18/09/2026

The best thing about that film was David Corenswet. He's so adorable. I liked her character arc but they could have got on with it and just had more writing. There was so much "person stands looking at thing in slow mo" it was tedious.
