while the other person is constantly giving them their time, effort, emotional support, care and energy, it’s hard not to question whether the relationship is actually reciprocal.

yes, relationships or whatever shouldn’t be transactional. people shouldn’t expect someone to keep a score of everything they’ve done for someone. but at some point i do wonder if they ever stop and think “what do i bring to the table?” because if the only thing they can say is their “time”

it doesn’t even matter how much confidence you have. it can really fuck with your perception of yourself especially when you already suffer from abandonment, rejection, emotional permanence and feeling like you’re not not enough but also too much for them.

i think there really comes a point where you start wondering if the amount of effort you’re putting into certain people is even being noticed. the way you constantly show up for certain people and then find yourself feeling invisible.
