I’m sorry if this disappoints, I intended to use Umbreon but saw Electivire was electric/fighting this rom so I had to use her.

This always made me wonder what they were thinking when deciding the #minecraft series icon in Ultimate. I hope in Smash 6 it gets changed similar to how Snake’s icon was changed. Credit to Phantasmaq on Reddit #gaming #smashbros #nintendo

The big year of 2025 and they add fire flies. Not sure if anyone on the Mojang team is on Bluesky but amazing work. I’ve absolutely loved the game drop approach and the snapshots so far! #minecraft #gaming

Other ways of characterizing Olimar: Give him his voice!! Even just hurt sounds would do so much to distinct himself from others. Video attached (sound on!) is what it could be like.

Olimar's Alts! Alt 1-3 Default Olimar, Red, and Green Variants Alt 4: Blue Variant, themed around Louie Alt 5: Alph Color Scheme Alt 6: President Color Scheme, see purple antenna Alt 7: Leafing Alt Alt 8: Bad Ending Olimar from Pikmin 1

130

Cheezo @cheeseworldians.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

For the other main aspect of characterization, please take a look at the current alt list for Olimar/Alph.

130

Cheezo @cheeseworldians.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

*New* up taunt: Olimar's up taunt is the least egregious taunt out of the bunch, but can be a better reference. Him flipping after collecting a part is more fitting!

130

Cheezo @cheeseworldians.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

*New* down taunt: He pulls out a Piklopedia, scribbles, and returns it to his pocket. Perhaps a small datalog icon could appear and fade as some sort of 'eureka' moment.

130

Cheezo @cheeseworldians.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

*New* side taunt: A point to the stars!

130

Cheezo @cheeseworldians.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

To get more into why the characterization is so bad, please take a look at each of Olimar's taunts. Olimar's side taunt:

130

Cheezo @cheeseworldians.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

Neither character is really expressed by the taunts, and it’s hard to since both are very different characters. Olimar is a father, a very skilled captain and pilot. He even wrote the Piklopedia. Alph on the other hand is inexperienced, an engineer, less confident but tries nevertheless.

130

Cheezo @cheeseworldians.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

Imagine if Sonic and Shadow shared a slot, 4 Sonic alts and 4 Shadow alts, and they both needed to use the same taunts to show personality. This is what is happening with Olimar and Alph at the moment. Pikmin is inherently more subtle, but there are better ways to express both in Smash.

130

Cheezo @cheeseworldians.bsky.social · 29/01/2025

Why Alph needs to be an echo or removed in Smash 6 If you even remotely like Pikmin, please read through. A thread 🧵🪡 #nintendo #pikmin #smashbros #gaming
