I don’t know what movie the critics saw, but Digger was excellent. It takes many twists and turns for the sake of its story, for its audience, and then for its viewers. It’s multilayered, and unsubtle, but also deviously subversive. #digger

In my D&D game last week, we spent the session preparing to face a TERRASQUE! For this week, I pulled this beast from my archives, & got her ready. It was an imposing project, I had never painted one creature this big before. There were audible gasps when she hit the table. Mission accomplished.

I put a lot of movies on in the background, I could do this all day with Jet Li & Godzilla movies.

This season is Silo blows. The season finale left us on the precipice of all these disclosures and we’re still there, waiting. No storyline that I cared about has moved forward an inch. Amnesia is an awful trope.

I powered through all eight volumes of Dungeon Crawler Carl over the last two months, and now I don’t know what to do with myself for the next year and change until the next book comes out.

I love ‘Woman of Tomorrow.’ It’s one of my favorite comics. ‘Supergirl’ was a shadow of that source material. Milly Alcock was great, she proved she can carry a movie, I just her next time out is a better one. Her, and the art direction were spot on. Everything else was mediocre. I’m disappointed.

I hadn’t played Dungeons & Dragons in a decade when we started this joke game 14 years ago, just after the birth of my son (100 XP if you can find him in the picture). From this day forward I was a Born Again Gygaxian. 🙌

I liked John Carter a little more. I was never a MotU fan, I was maybe just a year too old for the toys. I would occasionally watch the show just because it was on. The movie handled much of the shows good hearted nature & silliness really well, and the villains were all great. Fun, but not great.

I picked that set up about 5 years ago, for maybe $40. It came with 2 extra modules still in the shrink wrap. I don’t think I could get that set for under $100 now.

Last night, our dog Laika laid down for a nap, and slipped away. Recently, we were told she had an irregular heartbeat, which seems to have caught up to her. She was an oddly stoic & reserved creature, unless treats were an option, then: mayhem. She was a very good dog. She’s going to be missed.

I saw one of these as a kid while fetching a baseball from behind the neighbors bushes. No one believed me when I came running out from the bushes screaming, “MOOOONNNSSSTTTEEERRRR!” Like I had just seen Godzilla.

We were getting ready for our yard sale last week and I found this. 1001, a hand stapled zine, with a color cover glued on it, by renown artist Ian Bertram. This was his SVA senior thesis project. I met him out front of the SVA senior zine fest having a smoke and he handed it to me. Neat!

I wish it were $20, but I appreciate that they’ve listened. I haven’t played CoD since they stopped letting me use Tommy Chong as a character, so I’m good.

If they don’t do screens, they might not know who the characters are. Garfield, maybe. But, I wouldn’t blame him keeping that one on the DL.

His oldest, 13, has seen them. But his “three youngest” – 6,4,1 – have not. Thats not unreasonable.
