It is insanely emotionally exhausting to manage my own emotional self-regulation while trying to teach my teenaged child emotional self-regulation. If you're coping with your own chronic mental illness while trying to be an emotionally present parent, I see you, and you deserve nice things. 💖🫂

I have to co-regulate, use the Socratic method to lead them to understand why being selfish/reactive does harm to relationships, & why it's important to seek harmony and cultivate compassion for people who love and care about you. It's exhausting 😭

I got a blood pressure measurement device for home because of my white coat syndrome and I've discovered that scrolling memes lowers my blood pressure, lol. Of course I had to do this experiment 😅 I took measurements before and after for 6 days. Just a funny case study...

Nice little mental health walk on the beach. Much more enjoyable than walking on the treadmill. We walked 6 miles, but it felt very easy and it was overcast most of the time.

The police aren't there to help you, they are there to protect the state. I taught my autistic son to put his hands up when a cop approaches him. He did this once IRL and the cop looked hurt that my son would react to him with such fear, but they shoot autistic people all the time.

My blood pressure was so high today they said they might have to admit me to the hospital. I kept saying I have white coat syndrome, no one listened. They kept checking and rechecking while I was visibly crying with frustration. It was higher each time. I have to go back tomorrow to try again. 😭

I know that White Coat Syndrome is commonly understood, I just don't understand why so many medical professionals I've had to interact with seem to completely dismiss my anxiety like I'm just being silly.

One thing the internet has taught me is that there are a lot of miserable people who seem motivated solely to share their misery with others. People often say "it's just bots," but bots are programmed by someone or some people.

Just pondering how weird it is to have a complicated relationship with your mom. The child part of you will always want a mom you can run to for help or comfort but the grown up part of you knows you won't get what you're seeking from her. So that need just stays frozen inside of you.
