Early this morning, another Korean Air Cargo flight left the Edmonton airport, carrying more draft horses to Japan to be slaughtered. Last year, 2,601 young horses were flown from the Winnipeg and Edmonton airports to Japan for this purpose!

We have received confirmation that the Bouvry Exports slaughter plant in Fort Macleod, Alberta, is permanently closed and no longer accepting horses for slaughter! This news comes after months of speculation, with horse rescuers reporting empty pens and very little activity at the plant.
