Hyperinsulinism can cause severe and dangerous hypoglycaemia, where blood glucose levels fall dangerously low and urgent treatment is needed to help prevent neurological harm. The Children’s Hyperinsulinism Charity is calling for greater awareness, improved treatments and more research.
