Yeh I use R quite a lot for data analysis and making maps but I hadn’t delved into shiny yet (and have been keen to try!) so that’s super helpful to know there are some fairly simple templates and packages to get started with! Thanks for that info ☺️

Absolutely the AIS has been a real limiting factor in these soundscape models (we found that in a paper on the Kattegat soundscape we have in review atm!) but I would say even incomplete it would still give a good overview of what these policy scenarios might result in! Then can build from there!

Thanks! We’ve discussed it at the IMO and I see examples from real data collected in shipping lanes to support it! So I’m very hopefully it’s a good approach to help the problem! It’s also a great approach for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and collisions with whales!
