I reread this yesterday. I agree with your approach. It’s not worth the hassle, even in a plastic cage. I had an embarrassing incident at Reagan in DC that I would not like to repeat. Easy enough to go through TSA unlocked and relock on the other side.

Great visit with the Dr. since a had a previous testicle injury, he had me uncage for a sonogram. He made sure my Piercing was healthy and said I was good to cage back up! He checked out the disassembled cage, and was so curious as to how I could be locked so long. It was a great visit!
