My favorite stupid thing I ever did was carefully remove a hot pan from the oven and place it on the stove with oven mitts. But I placed it slightly on the edge, so I reached out with my bare hand and scooted it away from the edge. I managed to burn every finger and a palm in a neat, yet painful way

The thing about being 50 is that I don’t *feel* old. I have all the emotions as strongly as when I was 30. I’ve just had more time to experience them and see how they move. What consequences of acting on them in certain ways lead too. But I also feel regret for the roads not taken.
