Yes... it's important today to ask for permission first. I just bought a DPax BL recently and this is a request at the back which is very common in most BLs. The Japanese says "Please throw in the trash when you no longer need it". Preventing public misreading and miscontruction.

The artists request at the back of a printed fancomic that tells you to be responsible for, "throwing it away when you no longer need it", and prohibits reprints, redistribution, uploads of images, auctions and resales.

Copyright law is very strict on IPs in Japan and the people cooperated. This is why fancomics are sold crazily cheap there to prevent profiteering without a license and artists are motivated by community and friendship.

I hope the world follows their example.
