Weekend highlight included nice Eastern Box Turtle, Buncha fungi after all the regular rain & this skink which iNat has as a Broad-headed. Best of all those was some midnight paddle-boarding that led to the discover of bioluminescent dinoflagellates known as Noctiluca scintillans/“Sea Sparkles”!

Eastern Subterranean Termite hatch here in the yard today. In addition to be good food for birds, according to one source “The benefits provided by R. flavipes in terms of their contribution to environmental regulation may far outweigh the disadvantages they pose”. I was thrilled to see them

I dreamed last night that me and Dad were birding by boat on the Chesapeake with the PHL Eagles. Darius slay and Freddie Mitchell were there.🤷🏻‍♂️ I spotted a brown booby and was very excited about that. We also had some flyby Semipalmated Plovers, and 1 least sandpiper. #gobirds🦅

Have you ever seen a gannet prey on a dovekie? I saw a second cycle type bird today do a shallow diagonal dive and come up with one and then quickly swallow it. Shocked me, but maybe it’s less unusual than I might think? #birding #pelagicbirding #hillstarnature
