Exactly! Of course it's only a suggestion and I can and will use Squire either way 😉

Sorry, I think I'm not as fluent as I thought in English. I was not suggesting to hide any quests, with hierarchies, I thought it would allow me to buff sometimes only the "family" part of "personal", and sometimes the whole "Personal" stuff. Not hiding anything is brilliant and should remain 👍

Does it add the same level of complexity?

After what you said: that the focus area selected is not excluding other tasks but prioritizing tasks of the selected focused area I'm wondering if focus areas hierarchies would not be a good fit. It would allow focusing on Personal stuff or pick a more precise focus area.

I can no longer focus on only one area at the beginning of my day otherwise it will exclude by default part of the tasks I want to address. In fact, I'm lying, I still can do them by adding manually the other tasks but what I mean is that I can no longer benefit from the auto pick algorithm.

But when I add other areas (which may I have a blurry overlap with either Work or Personal, like specific part of my job, or tasks around house management, or friends and families),...

With just having Personal and Work, I found it very helpful to keep separate the things I want to do during days of work, or days off. The boundary is clear.

Thanks to you! Since I discovered Squire, it became instantly my default for managing all my TODOs and it already helped me a lot reducing cognitive load AND avoid procrastination so 2 big wins! Regarding focus areas what I can do is give you an example.
