Oooo what are you writing about? I’m also working on a book! Fiction or non fiction?

Wow. I just realised that I now equate my internet experience being in Spanish by default as being HOME ❤️ Just had an odd sense of calm from seeing the google login page in Spanish after my week in the US 😅

Amazing first talk of the day by @clayhebert.bsky.social at Craft + Commerce 👏🏻 Great stories. Clear takeaways. Vulnerability. Immediately applicable. #craftcommerce

Just tried to make a phone call by typing the number into my calculator app. How’s your day going?

If you already saw the keynote, or if you were lucky enough to be there live, you can use the timestamps to skip straight to the feature you want to hear my thoughts on.

I recorded my reactions to the Figma keynote. Not sure if there’s folks left who haven’t seen it yet and would want to watch along with me and hear my thoughts but figured why not upload it and see! Will share in the next few hours.

It’s Config week! Or for those of us not attending: it’s FOMO week 😅

Do any other tech company brand team leaders out there ever get real sick of having to be the bad guy saying no to so many people’s requests for creative resourcing? Like we just cannot physically or logistically do it all but I still feel bad having to say no to people’s ideas.

Charli Marie @charlimarie.bsky.social · 02/05/2025

I may not be able to have a stimulating conversation in Spanish, but I just successfully ordered a birthday cake and got the correct sized needles for my sewing machine through some back and forth so it’s a good day 🙌

Happy #memadeMay 🥰 This is one of the first few dresses I made, using Liberty fabric and the Rosery Apparel Pansy dress pattern.

This year is going by far too fast, but also I’m really looking forward to a summer filled with blue skies and beach trips 🥰

The one lovely part of the Spain blackout was seeing that our human reaction to having no power or internet is just to go outside. ☀️

Just played I Spy over walkie talkies with my friend’s ten year old for over an hour while driving in a convoy around the Scottish Highlands. And I think I had more fun than she did 😅

Anyway I climbed up a mountain this morning before work.

Me standing triumphantly at the summit of a small mountain. You can see the Mediterranean Sea in the distance.

A view over the Costa Blanca from partway down the mountain.

Something they don’t tell you* is that as you get fitter you actually crave movement instead of only viewing exercise as a chore. Wtf (*they probably did tell me but I absolutely wouldn’t have believed it)

Related: it’s not even 9:30am on a Monday and I’ve already successfully made two phone calls about booking in a test drive IN SPANISH. Who is she.

120

Charli Marie @charlimarie.bsky.social · 14/04/2025

When you’re speaking on the phone to someone in Spanish and ask them to speak a little slower, and they don’t just immediately switch to English instead 🥺

Like not only options in the car itself but also the options of how you acquire it! 🫨😵‍💫

Charli Marie @charlimarie.bsky.social · 13/04/2025

I’ve decided 2025 is going to be the year I get my first car and in my research I’ve gone from “just get something cheap” to “why not pay extra to have pastel green paint on this brand new EV” real fast. 🙃 Also. I’m very overwhelmed. There are too many options.

Charli Marie @charlimarie.bsky.social · 09/04/2025

What if I just filmed a cosy q&a video sitting in the park with a nice blue sky and maybe some birds tweeting and minimal editing, for folks to listen to in the background podcast-style? Would you watch something like that?

Someone was just able to log in to my BA account (which used a unique password) and change the email address. Not sure if there’s been a leak/hack of BA but if you get a “the email address on your account has been changed” notification, don’t ignore it!

Probably will upload next Monday as it’s a video about the recent (or not so recent anymore) @kit.com team retreat and I wanna give my workmates a chance to see it first.

Eeee I’m exporting a new video and I’m so excited to share it! I’ve easily spent like 30+ hours on the production of this one. Absolutely not efficient as a long term business strategy. But my goal right now is to enjoy creating again, and I SO enjoyed this process 🙌

A photo of my screen with a modal showing a video exporting from premiere pro. You can see me smiling in the reflection, though the screen is very dirty. I should clean it.

Love leaving comments of praise and agreement in my team mates strategy docs, not just questions/concerns. Cos I know when I write docs it’s just as helpful to know what fires people up as it is to know what I missed/what needs clarifying.

I’ve become such a Slack voice note girlie this year. Loving using it to quickly talk through something for the recipient to listen to when they’re free. Saves getting on a call but you still get the benefit of the nuance of hearing directly from someone rather than interpreting tone in writing.
