Just finished watching today's Y&R episode. Sally & Billy were discussing naming possibilities for their baby and Sally dropped the name Dylan. This HAS to be a CONTROL meta-reference, since her actress Courtney Hope also portrays Jesse Faden in that game & Jesse has a younger brother named Dylan.

Replaced my 20-year-old computer desk experiencing cascading weld failures with a workbench that can take 2000 lbs weight. Stronger & cheaper than buying a new computer desk where I'm paying mainly for aesthetics rather than pragmatic value. Solid oak looks pretty sharp too.

Oak top workbench. Simple but highly functional. I'd probably pay through the nose for a purpose-built computer desk featuring a solid hardwood top rather than the standard veneered particleboard.

Smoky skies over Vancouver today, but air still smells fresh. This smoke is made in BC, specifically from the Vernon, Pemberton, Clinton and Boston Bar wildfires. I took advantage of the fresh air to sneak in a run before temps soar and in case conditions deteriorate over the next few days.

The new Oakridge Park development opens in a couple days, but it's disappointing to see that it leans hard into luxury living, designer retail & experiences that feel too highbrow for the surrounding quiet neighbourhood. I miss the old more accessible family-oriented mall.

Last night got a taste of the long wait times in BC emergency waiting rooms. 2 hours before my family member was seen & 3.5 hours waiting for results. This is in urban area. I say 'taste' b/c we hear on the news about patients in rural ERs waiting 8+ hours before even being seen. Must be hell.
