And of course I’m building with iPhone Duo support right out of the gate Will this be the first video editor optimized for Duo? 🤔

Thanks to Apple's pretty incredible on-device Speech Framework, you can create auto-captions super quickly on any device Then edit the text, customize the color, font, outline, shadow, background, and even highlight the current word for some truly... uh... beautiful captions

Ever wanted to quickly crop videos on macOS without needing to import into the Photos app first? Trimothy's got you

So I've been building the Apple native video editing app of my dreams No projects, no libraries, just drop in files, trim, crop, add AI captions, export and get out. On macOS, iOS, iPadOS and Duo And I'm calling it – against my better judgement – Trimothy TestFlight link👇

It's been a hot minute since I hit this button

New app I've been wanting to exist for _forever_ is coming to TestFlight soon 👀 Group chat bullying me to take the branding in a... interesting direction 😅

Just realized how weird the web is going to look on the iPhone Duo 🤔 Are there web standards these days that help with the horizontal safe areas?

2142

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 17/09/2026

well this seems shippable 🤪

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 17/09/2026

I know we’re all impatiently awaiting the iPhone Duo simulator… but a good starting point is turning on landscape support for your iPhone app and seeing what’s broken

160

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 15/09/2026

this is actually curving at the crease too. Not sure if this matches the curve exactly but it feels close anyway for now. And this works with everything else natively in Framous so shadows, grouping, etc should all #JustWork

040

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 15/09/2026

Playing around with dynamic folding of the Duo frame in Framous 👀

180

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 14/09/2026

Ooh, and Framous made it on the Golden Gate updates list on the Mac App Store 🎉

080

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 14/09/2026

Whoa! Dark Noise made the Siri AI and Creativity lists for the iOS 27 highlights on the App Store! 🥳

1140

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 12/09/2026

And here's the new extra large widgets available now on iPhone

120

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 12/09/2026

Cutting it a bit close, but Dark Noise is ready to go for release on Monday with iOS 27! 🥳 If you're press and looking for apps integrated with the new Siri AI, or implementing the new extra-large widgets, check out my press kit below 👇 Here's how it looks with Siri AI

Ha, rejected for asking for a rating during onboarding which... I don't do?... except it turns out I actually did add a bug that does just that 😅 So... a rare "thank you!" to App Review for catching a bug before I shipped it to customers 🙏

1131

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 10/09/2026

Kinda unexpected that they’d enter review within minutes of each other 🤔

030

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 10/09/2026

Apps with no tab bar are going to look weird on the Duo with that huge gutter on the side... gonna be tempting to stuff things there just to make it feel less awkward 🤔 (this is the apple music app with the tab bar buttons edited out)

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 10/09/2026

Alright, 3 iOS 27 and macOS updates submitted for Dark Noise and Framous Let’s hope App Review moves quick 🤞

030

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 10/09/2026

I've been doing a terrible job of actually shipping this year, which means this Framous update actually has quite a bit of goodies on top of the new device frames including video support and this little fun guy

170

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 10/09/2026

Hmm, I guess we've entered a world where there isn't just Portrait + Landscape It's 4 different rotations now since the corners aren't symetrical 🤔

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 09/09/2026

New device bezels from Apple are up, including the Duo! Integrating them into Framous now. Will hopefully have a beta for you all soon, and the Mac App Store release… whenever App Review lets me 🤪 developer.apple.com/design/reso...

My iOS 27 Dark Noise release is just about ready! There’s a big foundational overhaul (boring to talk about here) – migrated almost the whole app to SwiftUI where possible, and FINALLY shipping this new liquid glass Now Playing UX I built almost a year ago 😄

Meet the Ship-a-little trophies 👀 This year every #Shipaton IRL Event will get one of these in their Meetup-in-a-box Last year many of you ran mini competitions – best Shipaton submission, trivia, etc – so we're leaning into it with trophy each can hand out how they wish 😅

Beautiful (but hot 😅) day for baseball

030

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 18/06/2026

Whoa, these ever present Now Playing buttons in CarPlay in iOS 27 are really nice. Seems to auto-show in audio playing CarPlay apps like Overcast/Music/Audible but only shows within the app that’s playing it. Would be very cool if this worked system-wide eventually

And an extra special callout to @swifteves.bsky.social, @benfreiband.bsky.social, and the rest of the CommunityKit crew (and of course RevenueCat for sponsoring 🤪) You truly created that center of gravity for the week where I could just tell folks "just go there and you'll have a great time"

040

Charlie Chapman @charliemchapman.com · 15/06/2026

As usual I was too busy talking to remember to get many selfies with folks 😅 But I had sooo many amazing conversations, and met so many cool developers.

Back to work after an incredible(ly exhausting) #WWDC! This was the year the community truly realized the dream of a full week loaded with events, even without a ticket! Huge thanks to @communitykit.social, @revenuecat.com, and so many more (even Apple!) for making this week so special
