Because I'll be honest, I was hanging around in limbo for those eight months when I wasn't sure what was going on. That wasn't fair. I had to be cautious because I didn't have key information that I needed to do something. When I learned what happened, I backed away and let it go.

New Apple Watch. I think this is my fourth one. Decided to upgrade and get the ceramic option since it gets bumped around here and there. I like it. The Series 12 is an improvement over the 9 for me. This should keep me happy until Series 15-16. It was time and I wear my watch all the time.

Since I had my eyes tested and acquired new glasses and sunglasses, I've been feeling more calm and less fatigued. My eyes don't compete to focus and it doesn't make me miserable at the end of the day anymore. I'm going every year to get my eyes checked. New glasses when necessary.

Apparently there are some gotchya hijinks going on at work with some of my colleagues getting grief from someone in the community. Not really going to go into details but I'm going to be taking a mental picture of my surroundings. I'm now treating this like a game of "Where's Waldo."

Since early-ish summer I'm down another 10lbs. I should be on track for 220lbs by Christmas, 210lbs by the end of March, and 200lbs by next July. Next summer I will assess and figure out where I feel comfortable and then maintain that. I'm almost at the end of the weight loss journey.

I suspect this plus the overages coming in October will satisfy those 80 minutes well through February/March. I'm estimating about a 1000 minute overage for October. My rationale behind doing those minutes is simple: Better to do them now than be in a panic mid-year because things are disorganized.

I won't pursue it but the last month I lost out on: -235 minutes of break time -240 minutes of weekend time -360 minutes of pre-contract hours time That's 835 minutes in one month. That's between 15-20 blocks of time. So... Not guilty for asking for those extra 80 mins per week. It was necessary.

So, the Strange New Worlds "Muppet" episode: Not great. The plot has potential but the execution wasn't ideal. I would have liked to see more of a "we're gonna sabotage the Enterprise by setting up Home Alone-style traps" approach instead of jumping and fighting the Orions. Could have been better.

I'd be willing to bet that the avoidance, plus the uncertainty, plus the strategic placement here and there, that I don't think this is over, and I would even guess that there is some guilt on their end. Guilt and regret over how everything fell apart in the first place.

So with there being nothing, and absolutely nothing in the last year or more, I think the communication attempts were legitimately to get things moving again. But I never had the confirmation I now have, and this is a major, major thing to have sorted out. It's still a mess but smaller, I guess.

I had my photo taken for a slide show for a work event and my honest reaction when I saw it on the projector was “Damn, I lost a shitload of weight.” It’s noticeable. The gym is paying off big time.

Yeah I'm still fucking sour from last year and that close encounter at the Oilers game with So-and-so. Can't get through watching a game without feeling it. What happened in May 2025 was incredibly hurtful and emotionally painful. That still surfaces when I watch a home or away game.

Russia doesn't have shit to escalate with. Refineries are progressively being taken offline/destroyed by Ukraine. Munitions are depleting. The collective ability of Europe to build and deploy drones against Russia would turn it into a behemoth. Russian infrastructure would be destroyed quickly.

If I were to guess after 17 months of this, they regret what happened. They regret creating the conditions to push me away and they don't feel confident enough to address this. They seem to be hurting. I think they are blaming themself over all of this. A big "I blew it big time" moment.
