Just watching the new episode of slow horses and I feel disappointed in the depiction of Diana Tavener, Book Diana is a far smoother operator with a greater ability to finesse committees. Show Diana takes far more of a “so what” approach to committees spoiling the subtlety of the role.

Delighted that Navi Pillay, chair of the UN commission which found Israel guilty of genocide in Gaza, has won the Nobel Peace Prize. Let Trump and Netanyahu splutter and fume: the truth becomes ever harder to deny.

Phil was a good friend and supporter of me while I was in the Welsh Green Party. He actively supported the set up of the Wales Young Greens and was a keen supporter of Welsh Democracy. I not only feel his concerns acutely they were also part of the reason I left.

This is a seriously good policy move from Burnham as he avoids the left-ward claim he is cutting the state while also muting right leaning voices calling for benefit cuts. Social care is in drastic need of improvement in the U.K. , I hope this delivers the funds to fix it.

In the space of 24 hours Reform in Wales have lost another leader to police inquiry and seen one of there members defect to Plaid Cymru. I am delighted to see that Reform are struggling with the realisation that letting Nigel just appoint his mates is a fast route to irrelevance.

After a delightful day pondering the contents of the Hunterian Art museum in Glasgow I get home to the excellent news that the far-right Sweden democrats have lost a sizeable chunk of vote share. Today is a good day.

The election victory of the AfD in Saxony-Anhalt and the scenes of far right violence in Dover are highly distressing to see as it seems the forces of the far-right are again surging. These surges like in 2016 were made possible by a society which turned a blind eye to hate mongers inside itself.

With all respect to the BBC, the reason this story "matters" is not about whether it distracts from Reform's conference. It "matters" because it is important our leaders are not conspiring to break the law.

As news breaks of a potential food shortage brought on by climate induced heatwaves, Wales is suffering yet another wave of brutal wildfires exacerbated on by that same heat. My home town is shrouded in smoke while a neighbouring valley burns.

Yesterday I passed my driving test. It might seem odd why I as someone who adores using public transportation would bother to get qualified in driving a car (especially considering the social, environmental and economic costs of driving)

The clacton by-election gives the local people a choice between two jokes. One is funny , undermines the political establishment and strikes a blow for honesty in government. The other is Nigel Farage. If you want a laugh at the tax payers expense this is the vote to watch.

Farage resigned as he has campaigned , in total self-centered ignorance of others. believing that any scrutiny of him is unjustified because it was of him while ignoring the harms and horrors others suffer.

Just reading a bit of George Osborne’s (no not that one) Power Play and this section has me reflecting on the UKs attempts to enforce digital ID and ban U-16s from social media, in that by treating people as the targets not companies all government is doing is banking pain for later.

The comments in recent weeks of Andy Burnham as he seeks to become MP for Makerfield shows why Labour activists have flooded into the Greens. Rather than take a position and argue for it he has dropped multiple positions to chase the political winds. This hurts Labour by showing its hollowness.

Hilarious that when Reform Cllrs are forced to acknowledge the reality of government they end up needing to abandon policy. Its almost like policy built on rage without thought gets you nowhere. Active travel is an amazing way to help with a number of issues across society lets see some more of it

As a Young Person who is classified as NEET (not in education, employment or training) there was something cathartic in a government report which accepted (unlike some people I meet in the day to day) that systemic blame for this. But it also shows government hasn’t done enough for Young people!

The lawsuit against pattie gonia by the brand pattagonia is a travesty highlighting the weakness of corperate activism. The need for patta gonia to defend her name for copyright reasons is an obvious nonsense , with any reasonable person assuming the person and the company are separate. (🧵 1/2)

Myself and thousands of other struggle every year in the UK due to exessive heat due to the poor design of UK buildings. Internationally however people , normally the poorest and most vulnerable, die due to extreame heat events caused by climate change. The UK can afford a redesign to cope!

I had chatted to @phildavies1995.bsky.social about this while he wrote this. It is infuriating when political pundits treat younger politicians as if they’re chasing there DofE award, rather than co-equal members of a political unit. The Greens do litter pick but we never assign this work by age.

The job search for many young people is an exercise in futility, ghost jobs, relentless re-assessment and refusals of firms to provide the tools of feedback to let people get better, all feed together to make a job market where people are scraping by not thriving.
