This album was my gateway into punk, and what rock and roll could truly be, when I heard it for the first time in high school circa 1980. Fortunately I got to see them play in 2005. RIP the great David Johansen. (crazy side note: we saw producer Todd Rundgren at the beach on Kauai last Saturday).

As paradigm shifting as that Kendrick Lamar performance was, imagine if Public Enemy had played the halftime show in 1990? A field full of S1W's would have blown so many (white) minds in Reagan/Bush's America it's unimaginable. Talk about fear of a black planet... @chuckdpe.bsky.social

The great but short lived Irish band Compulsion, photographed in the Los Angeles River aqueduct, 1994. Look out for their reissues on One Little Independent Records.

I haven't seen anyone say it yet, but imo the only reason @POTUS is levying tariffs against Canada is because he got teased about Melania making googly eyes at Trudeau and the resemblance of his son Barron. Trump is one petty fucker. We now live in a 6th grade bully state.

Exactly. For one example, fuck millionaire rapper Macklemore and his idiotic Hinds Hall bullshit. Selfishness in the name of political correctness has marched us straight into fascism.

Watching that Fire Aid performance this morning got me all watery by the end. I think Kurt would have approved. Beehive Records, Seattle, 9/16/91. #nirvana #nirvanaforever

Hey BlueSky transplants. Tip: go to edit your profile and put your real name (with a space between first and last) in the box that says 'Display Name.' Makes it a lot easier for anyone searching for you vs the user name URL. If you want to be found that is.

RFK is literal burnt toast at the hands of Democratic grilling. Which means, of course, with a GOP majority in the Senate, he'll be confirmed the next HHS. The fix is in, why even bother with hearings?

Drove by a new Trump flag last night on the way to the stables where my daughter rides. Even if you live in a deep blue bubble, MAGA is never that far away. Then on the way home, she brought up the sad legacy that he is leaving her. Twelve year olds shouldn't have to be thinking about this stuff.

In 1983 I visited Dachau. I'll never forget the two German biker gang members with Iron Crosses on, drinking cans of beer and laughing at the photos in the museum of Jews being paraded to their death. Sickening. And now the billionaires are the Nazis. We are going backwards.

It's going to be tough to beat my 25k following on IG, but hopefully this doesn't have the same portrait/landscape orientation fuckery that IG has. Looking forward to trying it out.

Slow Horses season 4 is quite possibly one of the most intense series I've watched (at least in the overplayed spy genre). Highly recommended.

The Tacoma Art Museum show of "Charles Peterson's Nirvana' is still running until May 25th, and not to be missed if you are in the area. We even built in a facsimile of the darkroom I used to use when I was photographing Nirvana. www.tacomaartmuseum.org/exhibit/char...

I've been delving into Australian punk lately, starting with Amyl, of course, and then Delivery (new LP Force Majeure just out), which has led me to Eddy Current Ring Suppression. Holy 'Saints,' how did I miss this band when first time around??!! Absolutely killer and spot on.

Welcome to my new profile here at Bluesky. Yep, I'm that 'famous' Seattle grunge photographer. I'm hoping to increasingly make this my new social media home as the others capitulate to and abet you know who. So please dive in and follow me!
