I watched the Martin Mull documentary on Netflix. It was quite good, but odd, in a way - Bob Saget started filming it in 2018, four years before his death and while Mull was still alive. Still, a nice reflection on his life.

😄 The only thing it really seems to know about me is that I still have my Comixology account, which is about all that I've used that site for in the past few years, and not much at that.

Lots and Lots and Lots of Control Panels. Fiddly knobs, entire walls of nearly identical switches, dials, inscrutable gauges, soda machine interfaces, bump it and you might die buttons, Swinging Fingers (!!), and many more... [kottke.org]

To go along with my recent post about control rooms, here’s the Control Panels group on Flickr, containing almost 3000 photos of control interfaces for all kinds of things. You’ll see some of the same phot

Given a very recent story I read about car buyers wanting knobs instead of screens, this is even more interesting.

I've been listening to local broadcasts and they're almost always better than the national version. Yes, they have a team preference, but they're far more fair than one might expect. I also get to avoid commercials for insurance companies.

Why do I occasionally buy a rotisserie chicken from my supermarket? Not so much for me. Cleo here demands some shredded shares.

Face of a green-eyed black cat, Cleo, who is always welcoming to pieces of chicken, turkey, ham, roast beef, tuna, etc. She looks a little intense but she is a big love who insists on being held like a baby and giving me multiple nose boops.

The Detroit Lions have started an international fan organization. First, might want to field a better team. Second, some of these "perks" are only available in the U.S. and Canada. 🙄 www.detroitlions.com/oneprideworl...

DC Comics is missing out on a licensing opportunity. Green Lantern themed smoke detectors! That circular logo would be perfect, and every six months you hear Kyle Chandler's voice saying "You're runnin' out of charge, Junior."

Not a bad match. US up 1-0 at the half. I checked the Red Wings score - up 4-2 over Ottawa. Detroit does know how to score some goals. Who knew? 🤷🏻‍♂️

I'm voting for Benson, but I don't know how her plan to circumvent tariffs on Canadian goods is going to work. I can't imagine it surviving a court challenge.

It wasn't bad. They both dodged a little here and there, but this format doesn't do the best job. Pick three or four topics and let them expand on things, not speed run through stuff in 60 seconds per issue.

Jeez, these local channels don't know how to get something simulcast on YouTube. First half-hour was just audio. 🤷🏻‍♂️ Grand Rapids and Lansing are not little tech-starved villages. www.youtube.com/live/7LPcNUR...

I keep expecting this to become a commercially available thing, given the confluence of Halloween and yard sign season. I had the latest batch made at signsonthecheap.com , less than $40 including tax and shipping for the pair with stakes, and they have templates so your sign looks authentic.

An array of lawn signs for such candidates as Jack O. Lantern, Ed “Les” Horseman, and Dr. Acula.
