I totally agree with DHH on the pointy-haired boss situation. And I'm actually a past victim of such stinky bosses. I also have noticed that the agents performed better when I instructed less, sometimes they even delivered results beyond my expectation.

Also, in my country, anti-AI people are almost non-existent, so you won't see anyone criticizing this phenomenon even though everyone's job is messed up.

I still write code as a hobby. But at least in my country, it's very much the case that no one is writing code anymore. Every company over here is pouring money on tokens. Bosses are even firing employees who don't know how to use Codex/Claude Code. youtu.be/OuNKBjuV7A4

Yeah, actually I heard of similar sayings. I think the difference between OpenCode and my agent is my agent exposes tool error messages to the model so the model knows how to change, while on OpenCode, the model just tried and failed calling the tool again and again before giving up.

I just finished watching DHH's keynote. I think it's fascinating. I don't agree on all his points, but I enjoyed listening to them. And I also encourage those DHH critics to listen. You don't need to agree with him, but just study why he gets to this point.

The motivation for me to build my own agent (Shuvarie) is my frustration when I was using OpenCode. Broken tools that AI struggled to call, limited virtual scrolling, Bun eating RAM (~300MiB on startup), and... sidebar on the right...

In hindsight, I start to think many of Zig's design choices actually make sense. Such as no string type (lightweight "strings" with no UTF-8 runes baked in), payload capture, error handling syntax, try and catch, allocator parameters, ... It's actually a great language.

I'm still observing how far Omarchy can go (in terms of tech). I don't care about DHH's political views. In my eyes, Omarchy is just a passion project morphed into a business league-based AI agentic way. I'm still using my Arch flavor (not a distro) because Omarchy was (is) too opinionated for me.
