Like I agree the batteries are too small, they don't charge enough in a lap, and the driver should have more control over the deployment. But also, the PU should not try to be so optimized that you can't brake if you have previously locked up!

I think this is a misunderstanding of who it is being marketed to with this strategy. "Slashing headcount" is exactly the right line to capture corporate spending, which is the main goal and only way the technology survives.
