if you've ever wondered what being a coworker with me is like… (same bullshit as trying to read my tweets) ty @nicknisi.com
"This text seems to be someone commenting on the Laravel community's interest in Laravel 12 starter kits. Let me break it down:
• "man, lots of folks on thot Laravel 12 starter kit grind" - The person is saying that many developers are working hard (the "grind") to create or use starter kits for Laravel 12
• "" - This is an emoji that typically represents being overwhelmed, exhausted, or finding something intensely appealing
As for whether it's good or bad, it's more of a neutral observation about the Laravel developer community's enthusiasm. The person is noting that many developers are eagerly working with Laravel 12 starter kits. The emoji could suggest the speaker finds this impressive or perhaps overwhelming, but the overall tone seems more observational than strongly positive or negative.
Laravel 12 is a version of the popular PHP web framework, and starter kits provide developers with boilerplate code to begin projects more quickly."

it took a little digging but Perplexity was right all along and i just pasted wrong classic meat-brain problems but it works!

look, i ain't no hero Perplexity writes all my lua and it knows *exactly* how to integrate neovim and avante with @lmstudio
100
chantastic @chantastic.bsky.social · 21/02/2025
let's fire up cURL LM Studio opens a local endpoint for requests with four "OpenAI-like" endpoints: - /v1models - /v1/chat/completions - /v1/completions - /v1/embeddings we're using /chat/completions for our neovim + avante setup

chantastic @chantastic.bsky.social · 21/02/2025
watch your memory running these models locally takes a TON of system resources you may need to close a couple hundred Chrome tabs

no lie… Claude 3.5 Sonnet still trounces (even the open reasoning models) at summary RAG summarization check out the result I get from the one-prompt YouTube description generator that Cursor created for me
100
chantastic @chantastic.bsky.social · 21/02/2025
don't repeat yourself! LM Studio has "Advanced Configuration" here you can setup presets with structured output (JSON), system prompts, and more…
100
chantastic @chantastic.bsky.social · 21/02/2025
LM Studio supports RAG (retrieval-augmented generation) out of the box and it does a great job with any plain text formats and even weird ones like .srt (SubRip Subtitle format)

chantastic @chantastic.bsky.social · 21/02/2025
I love reasoning models like DeepSeek because you see the context that is informing your answers and that insight helps you improve your follow-up prompts

chantastic @chantastic.bsky.social · 21/02/2025
chat works like chat anywhere else BUUUUUT you can load different models for each AAAAAND duplicate chats for regeneration in a different model

chantastic @chantastic.bsky.social · 21/02/2025
there are 3 modes: - user - power user - developr you nerds are gonna stick in "power user". only pop into "developer" if you really want to read JSON

chantastic @chantastic.bsky.social · 21/02/2025
LM Studio is like a desktop frontend for all the open LLMs on huggingface but it's also an API (important for text editor integration… later) download the cross-platform app at lmstudio.ai

i want to run AI locally consumer AI is cheap — so it's not a cost thing i hate being beholden to others so i got into LM Studio to integrate open LLMs (like DeepSeek R1, Llamma, and Codestral) into my local code editor neovim …and i made a video about it

remember when i said it had an unknown file format? probably because it allows cool shit like this for machine-specific optional config (by file)…
100
chantastic @chantastic.bsky.social · 13/02/2025
ghostty +show-config --default --docs this command will overwhelm the shit out of you. maybe you can convince @joshcirre to print and read it

chantastic @chantastic.bsky.social · 13/02/2025

I asked @perplexity_ai why people care about a new terminal…
100
chantastic @chantastic.bsky.social · 13/02/2025
Ghostty (the hawt new Terminal) has been flooding my timeline but I'm a slow adopter, when it comes to my daily tools i made a quick video setting up Ghostty for use with neovim, tmux, middle-aged eyeballs, and system-responding light and dark themes
an old guy looking looking pensive about a new terminal (emulator. we say 'terminal emulator').

I've spent over 10k on cameras for YouTube, streams, etc. (Honestly, I like cameras more than doing any of those things) So I made a video of every webcam-capable camera I own — sharing what I would or wouldn't buy again. Might be helpful if you're on the hunt
