Took Line 6 Finch West LRT last night as a little treat to decompress after the bike lane removal protest. Happy to share that end to end trip time was ~35 mins from Humber College to Finch West! (8:40pm - 9:15)

At around 8pm, organizers with intel confirm no more construction for today, but they'll start tmrw morning. People need to pull up 6am or as early as possible. Was heartwarming to see mutual aid in action with our little snack/drink pile. Some you was also giving out hot teas!

They then called in a “public order” unit and blocked off the whole street causing congestion. Apparently you need an overkill amount to intimidate people with a cane and wheelchair.

Many more people pull up at 5/6pm after work. No construction has happened so cyclists are just doing loops around. One cyclist got arrested for “mischief” for biking in the car lane with a sign?? Even though the bike lanes is closed and signs demand single file?

Rodney 🚧🚇 @chanface.bsky.social · 16h
They were only able to ~2 blocks worth of curbs westbound. The rest of the westbound bike lanes are officially closed and pyloned off. The signs demand cyclists to ride in car traffic single file, so we abide.

Including the Gardiner east realignment totals in the billions 🤑🤑🤑 Whats ridiculous tho is that it only carries 7% of commuters getting downtown at AM peak in 2011.

My approach is simple: look beyond short-term announcements and focus on practical, sustainable policies that can strengthen Toronto's economy, improve public safety, and deliver meaningful results for families.
My plan includes reducing property taxes by 3% annually and providing $1,000 in emergency assistance to help families cope with the financial pressures of rising taxes and the cost of living.
Accelerate the placement of senior housing.
Don't let the polls blind you; it's time for Torontonians to decide your own future. Vote for Gong #22.

Agreed it would be better without, but just pointing out that we can have better public space under hwys now while we advocate towards a future without them cutting thru urban cores The reality is that many cities will continue to have these spaces for decades. So we shoudnt let them be dead spaces
l've been a proponent of tearing down the Gardiner since I was born!
I just think there are ways to creatively use underutilized space when tearing it down isn't going to happen (a formal mayoral candidate ran on it and lost, and we just uploaded it to a pro-car provincial government).

Bloor west bike lanes removal between Islington and Royal York starting October 2026 with anticipated completion November 2026. Get ready for an emergency protest when the construction starts!
taking out bloor bike lane
NOTICE OF CONSTRUCTION START
BLOOR STREET WEST ROADWAY MODIFICATIONS, CLISSOLD RD TO ROYAL YORK RD
The Ontario Ministry of Transportation (MTO) will be undertaking road work on Bloor Street West between Clissold Road to Royal York Road, approximately 1.2 km, in the City of Toronto.
Construction involves removing existing pavement markings and pro-cast concrete curbs and instaling new pavement markings and signage to safely restore an additional vehicle lane in each direction.
Access to all local businesses and properties will be maintained throughout construction. Sidewalk access for pedestrians will remain available, and emergency access will be maintained at all times.
Construction staging will involve lane reductions while maintaining one lane of traffic in each direction.
Work is expected to occur primarly during nighttime hours to minimize traffic impacts: however, daytime. work may be required depending on weather conditions, operational needs, and staging requirements.
Traffic delays may occur throughout the construction period.
Construction is expected to start in October 2026 with anticipated completion in November 2026.

Now let's look at the 2026 poll. Small sample size of 362. 18-24: sample size of 6, of which 0 said Curran, leading to 0% which is just innacurate. Meanwhile, 65+ has 239, larger than every other age combined. Isn't this a bit skewed? Yes older people vote more, but not to this extent.

One of the most important responsibilities of a City Councillor is ensuring Toronto grows sustainably.
New density must be matched by the infrastructure needed to support it.
Right now, Toronto Centre is experiencing rapid growth while our infrastructure fails to keep pace. On Yonge Street, pedestrian volumes are already overwhelming narrow sidewalks, forcing people onto the road.
As City Councillor, I'll work with residents, businesses and other stakeholders through the YongeTOmorrow project to ensure pedestrians, cyclists and drivers all have the space they need to move safely and efficiently through our growing city.Busy sidewalk

Cree artist Kent Monkman's The Colony references the essential role that Castor canadensis (North American beaver) has played in the natural, Indigenous, and colonial histories of Turtle Island.
Monkman's larger-than-life beavers—a nod to the mistahl-amiskwak, the giant beavers of traditional Cree stories and
une Castorodes of the pleistocene era-feast, sing, dance, and celebrate, evoking Indigenous ceremonies as well as the opulent and weathered baroque

Their fanciful lodge also references Itallan artist Veremondo Rossi'$ 1763 engraving
La Caccia Dei Castori
Once numbering in the hundreds of millions, beavers were crucial shapers of ecosystems on this continent. Like their genocide that decimated their populations, beavers were eventually reduced to only 100,000 by colonial commercial and political competition. Today they thrive across Turtle Island.
In this reclalmed land on the shores of Lake
Ontario, The Colony honours the beaver and invites them to once again assert their presence, share their knowledge, and holp
