An interesting revelation from Yordan Alvarez this afternoon: he had a trainer that traveled with him throughout the season in order to make sure he stayed on the field and healthy all season.

In a related note, Espada said he hopes to have Peter Lambert available tomorrow. Lambert threw 41 pitches on Sunday after throwing 62 on Thursday. He is on the roster.

Ethan Pecko has been pitching through a left hip issue, but Joe Espada said that isn’t the reason the Astros left him off the Wild Card roster. They were concerned about Pecko’s availability after his workload on the last road trip.

Lucas Spence's first at-bat of the day ended with a 392-foot flyout that left his bat at 102 mph. The entire Astros dugout came to the top step at impact. Henry Bolte ran it down in deep center field. According to Statcast, it would've been a home run in two MLB parks.
