I have known Darrell Scott is one of our best living singer-songwriters, but hadn’t really found the studio album that best made this case. Listening to this for the first time here’s the Rosetta Stone. So good! #nowplaying 🎧

#releasedonthisday two great albums by the late Mark Lanegan. The acoustic “Field Songs” in 2001 and the electronic “Straight Songs of Sorrow” in 2020, the last album he released. Nothing sunny, but always delivered straight with that growling baritone. I miss Mark Lanegan.

#releasedonthisday 31 years ago, Jackopierce’s “Bringing on the Weather” is an album light years above the rest of their decent catalog of folksy singer-songwriter. The production from T Bone Burnett creates an album that brings real depth and creativity to a good set of songs. #nowplaying 🎧

Faith-based non-profits who care for our elderly, our orphans (like my son) and respond to those in crisis are now “a money laundering scheme”? Lutheran Services orgs around the country do much of the work which create a more caring civil society, and much more caring and efficiently than govt can 🧵
