He went to my high school. Hollywood was actually quite socioeconomically diverse when we were kids, and so was echo park and silver lake. Lots of working class people in all three. Judging communities that have gentrified as never having been otherwise is pretty egregious erasure.

One of the reasons I hate being forced into these discourses is that we spend a lot of time talking about how people are behaving on social media, rather than just using social media to talk to one another about the issues at hand. And some of that is microcosm of society. But it’s boring.

At the same time, Black women are treated like we don’t feel pain the same as our white counterparts and therefore that you can say and do anything to us and it won’t hurt. This is something that is extensively studied, in medical settings and beyond. This is not to say we are always right!
