iiinova — where your digital self keeps evolving

life continues to put me through the pear wiggler in a "death by a thousand wiggles" approach. but perhaps one day i will escape it.

i'm grumbling because i thought mabinogi (elf) mobile would be open for character creation at midnight. turns out it's actually at noon tomorrow and i missed the early character creation period that ended at 8 this evening. i dont even think you can make an elf in this one. but i'm still sad!!!!

not pictured is a kabocha scone i was too curious not to try… ryan and i split it and we think we like it but we’re also conflicted because we think they used more cornmeal than kabocha squash. tastes kind of like a dense corn muffin with kabocha skin.

was very kindly gifted the hairstyle this week... it's a nice balance of "cute" and "i am too tired to do anything overly stylish," which suits her.

i have many thoughts about how it's presented and written so far but i think most of that would be considered spoilers and we'd be here a while. but anyway. the bgm is quite good. a lot of it is very "fe3h chord progressions with a new twist" but i can't say i mind terribly. it's a little nostalgic.

watched some friends play two bits of different routes from the new fire emblem. i dont think we can call fire emblem a strategy rpg anymore. it's kind of an everything rpg now.

the capsule was wrapped in a paper thing and looked grey so at first i thought i ended up with a togedemaru which wasn’t my ideal pick. so i was a little sad. but as i was apologizing to ryan when i got home he opened it up and went “uhhh i dunno this looks like a spheal to me,” much to my surprise

the healthcare system here may have its flaws but it will never not fascinate me that i can go to a university hospital, be seen by a specialist who offered me plenty of time for consultation, and get a bunch of tests ordered for next time. and the bill will come out to the equivalent of $1.50. yay

the types of creature-folk in my world are classified into the categories "avian (wing ears)" "terrestrian (other animal features)" and "fae (people who have neither. usually plant/flower-based)." but it's not really something that comes up much. everyone is creaturefolk there...mostly everyone.

this past summer’s been quite humid but i’m glad we mostly got through it without too many crazy 40+ heatwaves this year… i’m looking forward to cooler weather for walking. and for cooking. it’s so much easier to cook big soups and healthy hearty veggies in the winter…

went on an early anniversary satur-date…… we hadn’t had hot pot since the winter and the weather was cooler and a bit gloomy today so it was a very pleasant time!!!

this inspired me to try and write a song in 5/4 but garageband doesn't let you set your song up to be 5/4...... or any other unorthodox time signatures. unfortunate....

recently i was watching some game music theory videos for fun and learned about the wild woods theme from mario kart 8 because it's in 5/4 time signature. it's quite catchy!! i remember hearing the arrangement in mario kart world a lot so i'm glad i finally know what it is. youtu.be/wDHqwW0OVi4?...

today the mabinogi eternity alpha started in korea. i've been watching the official stream this evening that the director is hosting and it's very cute... he's going into some streamers' channels and thanking them for playing and directly asking them questions about how they like it. brave....

like at this rate if these are the kind of takes their directors or devs are spouting my hopes of them having ANY women leading in the writers’ room for p6 is virtually zero.

i have a million grumbling thoughts buzzing in my head about how stupid it is not to implement extra cutscenes and dialogue in a game that probably has a far larger budget than most games that have and put EFFORT into same-sex romance options. like come ON dude

this book slam dunked itself into my top 5. if you’re bilingual and/or a translator it is especially poignant. books don’t really make me cry much but the end of this one actually did have me a little misty-eyed….. i still have a headache from staying up late to finish it but it was worth it

stayed up way later than i should have so i could finish reading rf kuang’s babel last night….. originally i started reading it at a snail’s pace so i could enjoy it like a fine wine but halfway through i realized i could not put it down and finished the rest these past two days… incredible book!!!!

there was something about this little dude that was particularly endearing for some reason... a mix of stuff that reminded me of when i was nine and what i thought was important despite the weird world around me. made him feel more authentic to me.

i'm trying to do one big push on the basic stuff for this little game while i still have time. the more i put it together the more i want to tidy it up and make it nice... it's still got a long way to go though.

anyway sorry for all that. i have a migraine today that is scrambling my brain into an omelette and i am mostly idling around in (painful) thought

チャモ/chamo @chamofleur.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

at the same time, it is my big playground of a world. the most important part is that i have fun with it. so i hope it helps me get over that weird hurdle and find "myself" again. if my friends/peers read it and groan or go "shut up!! shut UP!! (endearing)" maybe that is just part of the process.

チャモ/chamo @chamofleur.bsky.social · 15/08/2026

writing professionally is an interesting process because most of the time, my writing is never just mine. it's the culmination of a lot of folks' feedback and experience to make it the best it can be!! so when the writing is solely "mine" again in this quantity it feels...off!!! it's weird!!!!
