If you’re looking for proof that magical places still exist, I ask you to simply walk into your local library.

#Inktober Day 14-Shattering I initially misread the prompt as 'shattered', but I think this still works! I love how my 'Inktober Gang' kids somehow manage to just naturally fit in a prompt every year. It's one of my favorite yearly traditions. #furryart

A trio of squirrel siblings are all standing in a line and being seen from the point of view of an adult who is holding a baseball. The girl squirrel, who is wearing glasses and holding a catcher's mitt, is pointing at the boy squirrel in a cowboy hat. The cowboy hat kid is glaring at her while also trying to hide a baseball bat behind his back. The third kid, a chubby squirrel, is casually eating an apple and holding a basket of apples while looking directly at the baseball bat. The text reads: "10-14-26 #14:Shattering"

#Inktober Day 13-Parade "I did NOT approve this..." I had too much fun drawing that LaRose balloon. #furryart

An illustration of a parade scene, complete with floating character balloons. One of the balloons is a happy-looking wolf in a suit with the name 'LAROSE' printed on its jacket. Below, an actual wolf in a suit (who looks very similar to the balloon) is looking somewhat offended and is glancing at a female fox who is laughing behind her hand. The text reads: "10-13-26 #13: Parade"

#Inktober Day 12-Bird's-eye View Blergh. I wanted to do a cool high-angled view of Nate's apartment, but I don't think the angle is sharp enough to qualify as a proper bird's-eye view. #furryart

An illustration of an apartment from a high angle. An anthropomorphic rat is sitting on a sofa. He's staring at a coffee table, which has a gun and a switchblade on it. Across from him is a desk with a disassembled rifle on it. There are various other items of clothing around the apartment. There is also a wall clock that reads 19:03. The text reads: "10-12-26 #12: Bird's-eye View"

#Inktober Day 11-Celebration! It's always a fun day when I get to draw Rick being a dork. #furryart

A black and white illustration of a male raccoon on his knees and making the 'horns' with his hands as he looks up. Behind him is a knocked out anthropomorphic bird, who was presumably the raccoon's opponent. The text reads: "10-11-26 #11: Celebration!"

#Inktober Day 10-Zenith I like to picture Leon being high up in the mountains sometimes to train or think, so he came rather naturally to my mind when I saw the prompt for today :) #furryart

A black and white picture of an anthropomorphic male cat sitting on the edge of a cliffside. He's looking up happily as his sandaled feet are idly dangling over the edge in a carefree manner. The text reads: "10-10-26 #10: Zenith"

#Inktober Day 09-Cozy Fire Bit of a rough one today because my time was limited :P Based on my own little fluffball. #furryart

A black and white illustration of a cat sleeping soundly in front of a fireplace. The text reads: "10-09-26 #09: Cozy Fire"

#Inktober Day 08- Harvest I love Harvest Moon and Mario 2, so I jumped at the chance to do a crossover. #videogames #mario

A black and white illustration of the protagonist from Harvest Moon walking away with a massive turnip that has a smiley face. Behind them, a Shy Guy from the Mario series is waving his fist in frustration. The text reads: "10-008-26 #08-Harvest"

#Inktober Day 07- Stormy Seas I suspect Noah had to be quite the couple's therapist to help his mission along. #furryart

A black and white illustration of Noah (of Noah's Ark fame) standing between two bears who have their backs to one another and appear to be pouting. Noah looks tired as he looks at the male bear and says "Now, Robeart, how do you think that made Beartha FEEL?". There is text that reads: "10-07-26 #07: Stormy Seas"

#Inktober Day 06: Pizza Eggs This might be my favorite so far. Drawing up this little guy was too much fun. #furryart #pizzasaurus

An illustration of a baby Pizzasaurus Rex hatching from a bed of eggs with pizza toppings as the shell. The pizzasaurus is covered in pepperoni, has a black olive for an eye, and is dripping with cheese everywhere. The text reads: "10-06-26 #06: Pizza Eggs"

#Inktober Day 05: Miniature Worlds This was a fun one :) I always enjoyed the little replicas of society in films like American Tail and the Rescuers. #furryart

A black and white illustration of small anthropomorphic rodents in a shopping center of some sorts. A chipmunk is buying a candy-covered walnut from a mouse, who is using cards as a counter. Above them all is a side-view of a sidewalk, with a large pair of presumably human feet walking above. The text reads: "10-05-26 #05: Miniature Worlds"

#Inktober Day 04: Danger! I've always liked the phrase "Danger Noodle" when describing snakes. It was the first thing that came to mind when seeing this prompt. #furryart

A very sad diamondback rattlesnake is in a terrarium, hugging a plush mouse, and looking up at the viewer. There are signs on his case reading "Warning! Danger Noodle" and "Do NOT Pet!". The text reads: "10-04-26 #04: Danger!"

#Inktober Day 03: Super Powers I need to draw Rose showing off her strength more often. #furryart

An anthropmorphic female cat is carrying a large slab of terrain. A female mouse is hanging onto the top of the terrain and looking down in surprise. The text reads: "10-03-26 #03: Super Powers"

To sum up the journal: Third-party advertisers are refusing to support FA because it allows adult content (and their definition of 'adult' is ludicrously puritanical), and FA costs too much to run without outside funding otherwise. They're offering many different ways for us to support them here.

130

Chameleonice @chameleonice.bsky.social · 03/10/2026

As someone who has used FA for almost as long as the site has been around, this place is truly special and worth saving. It allows us to be weird and to be ourselves, especially during a time when our government and businesses are making it harder to be so. I've made so many friends through here.

#Inktober Day 02: Dark Voyage I got a little bit ambitious with the shading on this one. Not entirely sure if I pull it off... but I'm glad that I tried! #furryart

A black and white illustration of a fennec fox in a pirate captain's outfit. He is standing underneath a lantern that is casting shadows across the wooden planks of a boat deck beneath the fox. The text reads: "10-02-26 #02: Dark Voyage"

#Inktober has begun! I'm doing it with several friends this year, which should be fun. One of them is making up the prompts, so I don't know what we're going to be drawing next! Day 01: Friendship #furryart

A trio of an anthro coyote, raccoon, and a winged cat, all standing close to one another and seemingly posing for a picture. The caption for the image reads "10-01-26 #01-Friendship"

The final 'interaction' themed pic for this month (Next month is Inktober. Woo!). My panther character Violette cosplaying as a Platinum Pokemon trainer and catching my friend's Mithra character, Raichel. She used to be a Pokemorph, so this joke only kinda works now 😛 #furryart

A drawing of a female panther wearing the outfit of the male Pokemon trainer from Pokemon Platinum. She has a hooped catching device that looks like a bug net without the netting, and the device is currently around a catgirl who is wearing a shirt with the Pokemon electric symbol on it. The panther is saying "Oh my! I caught a Raichel!" and the catgirl is sighing and saying in response "Rai-chel!", mimicking a Pokemon cry.

This week's interaction pic: My friend's super tough raccoon gal, Katie, protecting my considerably less super dragon, Mel. Not sure how a fight like this broke out at the cafe... #furryart

A female raccoon with long hair is standing proudly in front of some projectiles that are being thrown her way. Cowering behind her for cover is a dragon barista that is twice her size and looks terrified.

This is so cool! I love all of the art and such in the background. It's such a cartoonist's space!

My interaction pic for the week! My rodent punk Nate getting into a tussle with my friend's cheetah/leopard character, Jamie! Meanwhile, some of the girls in the audience are egging them on for different reasons... Lash is Jamie's girlfriend, by the way. She's the bear in the 2nd pic. #furryart

An anthro mouse/rat (we're not sure) is being held up by his shirt collar by a cheetah/leopard (this one we know for sure). The two appear to be getting ready to punch each other. The feline character is saying "For the last time, stop spreading rumors about Lash!". Meanwhile, the rodent character is saying "You'd better make me, pretty boy!"

The same as the previous image, only now there are two girls in the background who are shouting for the guys to just kiss already.

This week's interaction pic: My squirrel rocker Janice learning Shaolin Kung Fu from my friend's character, Pan. It was a lot of fun to study the forms for this one :) #furryart

A panda is teaching a squirrel one of the forms of Shaolin Kung Fu. The squirrel asks "So, when do I get to learn to how to kick a guy's teeth in?" to which the panda responds, "Forms for now, teeth-kicking later."

The same art buddy who did the random anthro challenge with me is doing a new weekly theme for this month: Our characters interacting! We roll on a random list and have to draw two of our characters together somehow. This week pairing is my ysoki, Miya, and his catgirl, Velocity! #furryart

Two characters, a female mouse and a female cat, are at a concert for a group named Lashunta 5. The cat is pulling the mouse into the frame for a selfie of the two of them. The mouse appears to be unprepared for the picture-perfect moment.

I haven't been posting on this account, but I've been still quite active with art stuff! Something that I've been doing is an art challenge with a friend where we take animals that we don't normally see in the furry community and make anthros out of 'em. My theme is Keeton City residents. #furryart

An art process page showing me learning how to draw a coati and then a character at the bottom. This character is a punk design, crouching down and holding a crowbar as she flashes two fingers.

Koala! This is a koala character who is dressed as a cleaner. He's using a broom to clean up some graffiti on the wall. That graffiti just so happens to be a picture of a grinning blue raccoon.

A pangolin! This character is dressed as a police officer. He is hunched over in a classic pangolin pose and is currently writing a ticket as he looks at the viewer. He's smiling, so perhaps the ticket is for something good?

Furry cons will change your life tbh. Imagine 3-4 days of socialization where the vast majority of the content - instead of being tied to corporate franchises and pre-existing IPs - is just passionate people expressing themselves and sharing their interests. And also, SHITLOADS of free, warm hugs.

I truly always appreciate any kind of feedback on my art, but I will admit that a part of me deflates every time something I've spent a lot of time and mental energy on just gets a quippy "This is just like <insert meme/popular thing here>!" and no further thoughts.

So, I know I've been rather quiet on this page lately. However, I wanted to share at least a little bit of what took a ton of my attention earlier this year: The Character Design Forge mentorship! It was a 2-month course that really pushed me out of my comfort zone. brookeseggleston.com/mentorship

A page of four young human (gasp) characters of different sizes and designs.

A screenshot of Abigail from the movie Once Upon a Forest, with a drawover of her done in red to the right.

Sunday Sketches! I run an Ironclaw TTRPG for my friends from time to time, and I occasionally like to draw up NPCs from the game. This little guy is named Terra Mishu, and he's a very short dragon with a very big mouth. He almost never fights anyone himself. #furryart

It's very hard sometimes, I agree. That sense of joy & wonder that drives me to make so much of my stuff is much harder to tap into these days. There's always a little voice in my head saying "Don't you dare be whimsical when it sucks out there." I think that means we need it, though.
