I called and as usual the agent was helpful and got me a magical discount that is impossible via the website 😭 I know this shit is by design; it’s so infuriating. Random bill increases is why I normally don’t autopay but this asinine company offers sizable discounts for autopay. I wonder why 🫩

On this very productive middle of the night, I got my internet bill and it grew $20 for no reason. Was peaceful for a bit but now they've done it again. Stupid isp monopolies. Chatbot never properly redirects to agent but I saved the num from last time. Just gotta wait for biz hrs

oh also, the super bright initial coloring was probably me trying to use the Color layer, but I still don’t really get it and don’t know how to control it, so you can see me just abandon that layer in favor of a normal layer LOL. The slight color tweaks are prob tone curves, e.g. upping blues

000

chalkelot @chalkelot.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

In final ver, I removed the c dodge to desaturate, but then switched the shadow to color burn bc I wanted saturation back lol. For the “noise”, I duped the layer I wanted noise on, inverted, then hard mixed & adjusted opacity. Hard mix in general for artifacting is great since it reduces colors

100

chalkelot @chalkelot.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Since that was dull, I changed to a color dodge layer to up saturation, then duped into an add layer for brightness. And finally I always have some overall lighting layer. Here it was a green linear burn shadow. No idea how i got there. Probably green to counter the purple pink in brightest areas

Considered making a tutorial with my half baked knowledge and I’m just staring and trying to figure out how to explain this 😭 So I start with a value painting, grad map to quickly set tone, then uhhh mix that base w ref colors? Here I remember color picking the base then moving it toward ref color

Ty to timestampers though fr. I normally just jot down times from in stream clocks for fun moments I want to revisit. But some don’t have clocks so I have to guess based on the time I noted vs when they started stream. Timestamps make searching around so much faster

000

chalkelot @chalkelot.bsky.social · 07/10/2026

Saw a twt about feeling awesome making oshi laugh so I went to make personal timestamps for moments I remembered doing this. For one of them, my comment was in someone else’s timestamps and that was an extra ego boost 🫪 As a super serious (not) funny person this is going to make me insufferable 🤪

Perspective is hard but gotta try it for the sake of cool composition 😎 (😭 ). It kinda looks off but random colors go distract everyone 🪄 . Was a lot of inverting + hard mix layers, esp. on the lighter brushy (?) layers like hair and shirt 🙂‍↕️

Initial planning sketches. Originally it was supposed to be a shopping trip but he was made for the stage /dramatic

Finalizing the cooler colors. Mostly finished rendering the top hat hand and his face

Finishing the rest of Bettel (hair, shirt, pants, boots)

Finishing the most painful part, his coat. Added the curtains to add to the stage vibe plus some shadows to add drama to the floor/background
