The situation REALLY sucks but I’m glad I was able to replace it and get even more for the same amount I bought the original for. Will still miss all my memories with the old one but here’s to making new memories with this camera Lastly here are some of my favourite photos I took with my K1000

All and all it ended up being okay. I got a newer version of my previous camera for 1/3 of the price and multiple lenses, a flash, an automatic mode (for using flash) and a new auto camera! Very thankful to those in my community who gave me deals, gifted me things, drove with me to pick up, etc.

On top of that I did have to purchase the original lense of the camera since the seller no longer had if and so I paid $40 to someone else for one. My coworker also gifted me an old point and shoot film camera and I had to pay $20 for a replacement part (which is super cheap lol).

Here’s a little update: I didn’t get my camera back, probably won’t ever. However, I went to go pickup a new one and the guy selling it wanted it gone and felt bad for me so he only charged me $40 for a camera, 2 lenses, a flash and old film!

I’m in Canada, but my province I doubt has anything. Icl haven’t looked into our current administrations policies around such issues here. However considering how they treat our teachers and healthcare workers I doubt there’s any help for people who struggle with substance abuse.

Law enforcement won’t do anything about it in terms of finding my items and our government does not give af about helping the homeless or people suffering from addiction, so it’s just an unfortunate situation all around. It might just be time for me to move to a different area 😭

We have cameras outside our building but it’s typically homeless people stealing out of the cars and there is nothing you can do about it in terms of deterring stealing. There’s signs saying we’re recording but at the end of the day they’re desperate and don’t care.

The camera itself only gets sold at higher prices now because it’s “trendy” to have my specific model but the camera itself is nothing special. They typically buy them in bulk for university students. Not worth making a police report or buying it back, it just really sucks.

travelled the world with me etc. there’s a lot of memories with that camera that aren’t just photos. (That and I still had half a roll of my zoo trip with bogos in there). Even if I were to find it, they surely opened the camera and that film is ruined.

Luckily it wasn’t too bad this time… last time my window was broken and camcorder STOLEN. This time someone picked my lock. So no damage to the car itself. My camera is really only worth maybe $75 (Pentax k1000) but I’m more upset that it’s been my camera throughout university

To top it off the pawn shops I called said “yeah unless you have a serial number we can’t verify the camera is yours”. And won’t give it back to me… I actually hate it here, people stealing my shit and pawn shops making a buck off of it.

I’m looking into moving because it’s actually terrible here. I don’t NEED to live close to the university and this place gets robbed, mugged and snuck into constantly that I need to lock all my shit and even when I do I still get my shit broken into. My car was locked…

This isn’t even the first time I’ve had my windows broken and a camera stolen. (Both were NOT visable). I get people coming up to me at night when I park home after hang out with my friends. People camping out near my parking stall and threatening my life when I walk past.

Someone broke into my car and stole my film camera… I’m actually devastated. I loved that camera so much. I hate this fuck ass neighborhood where I get harassed outside DAILY and my shit is constantly getting broken into. Fuck this man

Finally might be getting a new ipad after mine is practically dead after 7 years of hard use. (art school) The only thing holding me back is the daunting task of having to transfer every drawing I’ve ever done to my computer… especially from an ipad who takes 5 minutes to open any procreate file

I play wellstring when I sub for other teams as a back line haha. I actually used to play A LOT of reeflux so my ability to hit the one shot isn’t too bad plus when idk what to do I just spam popsicles high traffic areas. (Also no one expects a wellstring to know how to use hammer well…)
