Alisaie and Dagny lying in some grass together. Their hands on the lft are closely intertwined, while on the right Dagny's gently touches Alisaie's hair. Alisaie's hand is loose on the ground. Alisaie appears to be sleeping, while Dagny is gazing at the camera with a small smile.

Across the Rift (Summon) - Alisaie finds herself called across the Rift to the First, panicked over the situation that she has found herself in. archiveofourown.org/works/89057566 | #twinwol #wolisaie #twinwolweek2026 #DagnyLore

"Leave her alone," she said. "Whatever you need her for, find another way. Send me back."

"I cannot." The Exarch's voice carried no cruelty and was even sympathetic, which somehow made it worse. "The nature of the threat she faces cannot be addressed from the Source. I need her here, in the First, if there is to be any hope for this world or yours."

"What threat?" Alisaie's voice rose. "You've said nothing of substance! You've torn me from—" The robe scratched against her collarbone, and she tugged at her collar with her hand. "How could you get me but not her?"

Something shifted beneath the Exarch's hood, a faint suggestion of dry amusement.

"Dagny has proven to be…remarkably stubborn," he said carefully.

New Beginnings - Dagny struggles to find a new beginning while Alisaie has already found hers. archiveofourown.org/works/88827806 | #twinwol #wolisaie #twinwolweek2026 #DagnyLore

"You hate it when I say I'm going to visit you and Alphinaud in Garlemald."

"I hate the idea of you in Garlemald," Alisaie corrected, setting the coats on the bed. "But I would rather you be miserable in Garlemald with me than moping around here and worrying Raha and my mother."

Dagny opened her mouth and then closed it, unable to form a response.

"Besides," Alisaie continued, pulling out a couple of Dagny's long skirts and a blouse she always complimented. "Jullus insists that the summers are actually quite pleasant."

A laugh escaped Dagny before she could stop it—small, barely more than an exhale, but it broke the tension she felt in her heart. "Garlemald is pleasant in the summer."

Ended up answering this in the FC discord so #DagnyLore

Dagny does have guilt about killing Garlean soldiers, she carries guilt about killing most people really, but she learned pretty quickly that you have to defend yourself and sometimes that does involve killing someone that won't hesitate to kill you. She ends up playing a bit of a mental calculus game in the moment though when she can. If she can physically tell who she's up against is non-Garlean, she will either injure them intentionally to keep them out of combat but alive (and someone behind her can help heal them up/take them into custody) or she'll attempt to kill them in the quickest way possible so it's painless/they don't realize it. She doesn't like drawing it out regardless, but she tries to take extra consideration there when she can.

She has complicated feelings about people who serve the empire, but Dagny is aware that (especially for those that are conscripts) there isn't really a choice. In some ways she finds a Garlean conscript less reprehensible than those that aren't conscripts but still collaborate with the empire. Thavnair's neutral stance is something that she grew uneasy with as she grew older, and becomes impossible to make sense of when she learns that her parents were to be killed by order of the empire and her grandfather still agreed to do trade with them. Learning the man that saved her life was a Garlean conscript makes her feel even more complicated and sick about it. There is no ill will towards those that defect from the empire for the most part (if she knows them post defection, so Nero is an exception here), so she gets along well with Cid, the Lexentales, Lucia, Maxima, etc. There was a real chance that her opinion of Garleans could become eased a bit during 4.2 but then Asahi went and quashed that. She's wary of those in leadership positions especially after that, and Gaius during Werlyt reinforces her opinion of this. Those that kept the wheel of the empire turning are reprehensible to her, especially if they are willing to u…

She's wary of those in leadership positions especially after that, and Gaius during Werlyt reinforces her opinion of this. Those that kept the wheel of the empire turning are reprehensible to her, especially if they are willing to use those that are subjugated as pawns for those own means. (Gaius adopting so many auri children is haunting to her, especially with the offer/appeal of her to join him during the Praetorium in ARR)

Dagny isn't there for most of Tertium, P'iuma goes on his own with the twins. This was a logical move by the Ilsabard contingent. While splitting Hydaelyn's Chosen isn't ideal, if the situation was to go south, then at least one would still be around. Lucia also knew enough about the events of Werlyt through alliance communications to think that leaving Dagny surrounded by Garleans in a diplomatic capacity would be a disaster. Which is right because the whole diplomatic effort would have fallen apart the moment Cinna ordered the twins to be collared. By giving Dagny distance she's able to become more sympathic to the Garleans overall, helping with the efforts to give those outside of Tertium food and care. Dagny ends up teaming up with Estinien to break out the twins from captivity later. When she sees Cinna had killed himself, it's a very 'good riddance' moment for her, and she's able to view those around her more as people (with time) as a result.

She has very complicated feelings about Alisaie and Alphinaud aiding with reconstruction of Garlemald. Dagny's supportive, but keeps her time there minimal unless absolutely necessary. Also she's not really sure what to make of Jullus after everything that happened, but he and P'iuma get along well so it's probably fine.

(sorry its long)
