Oh, okay
Text: “Yes, it’s hard to trust the judgment of someone who said they teleported and then doubled down on it,” said another senior official. “But he seems to really care about people, which I really appreciate. And I think he cares about readiness for hurricane season.”

Some bold takes today www.mediamatters.org/megyn-kelly/...
Hed: Megyn Kelly compares pressures on Trump to start Iran war to Justin Timberlake pressuring Britney Spears to have an abortion

Sub: Kelly: “Was that Britney's decision? Yes, it was. But if Justin Timberlake hadn't pushed and pushed her, would she have done it? No, she wouldn't have. It's the same thing. There's no question Bibi pushed Trump into this.”

Screenshot from piece:

The attempts to cynically exploit the crash were just a preview for how MAGA would handle tragedies in Trump’s second term. In the past year, conservative media lied about the ideological profile of a man who killed Democratic Minnesota state Rep. Melissa Hortman and her husband; covered for the Department of Homeland Security’s repeated immigration abuses that included the killing of two Minnesotans; and baselessly targeted an innocent Palestinian student after a shooting at Brown University.

In each of these incidents, the Trump administration and its media allies moved quickly to establish a political narrative before facts were established, which often takes time and investigation. The result was a cycle in which speculation hardened into talking points, shaping public perception before a full and careful accounting of the truth could take place. By the time the actual facts came to light, the narrative was set and right-wing media had already moved on to the next outrage cycle.

Anyway, here's just one example of how the above incident was covered on Fox News

The fact that these are the *updated* clarifications just shows how barbaric Texas’ abortion ban is. And the bill still doesn’t remove major criminal penalties or expand abortion access to cases of fetal anomalies, rape or incest.

Just looking through the archive of my Hegseth posts from Twitter
Hegseth: “God has used imperfect people forever,” but what Trump “has withstood is unlike what really any other mortal could understand” Hegseth on people in America working multiple jobs: "Thank god we live in the kind of country where we have the innovation and flexibility where you can bring in money from different places and do different things"In which Pete Hegseth tells his Puerto Rican colleague that he can in fact tell him to go back to his countryIt's not even 9 am and I already had to listen to Fox & Friend's Pete Hegseth describe AOC's legitimate concern about having children in today's world, a concern many millennials share, as "civilizational suicide"

Every shooting drill reiterates that students must be as quiet as humanly possible In Uvalde, police assumed there were no living children because … they didn’t hear any screaming, as these children and educators were stifling their screams following protocol like they were told Unfathomable
