This has literally never ever happened, save a few specific cases. Billionaires also are famous for hiding their wealth away and making schemes to pay nothing in taxes so even if they did go away what would be the real loss in tax revenue?

Conway was not alone in this argument: Newsom and other prominent Democrats (opens in new tab) have expressed concern that the tax would drive billionaires out of the State (...)

"Teboe says he met with Mahan in November, and that the mayor was decidedly against running at the time. He also says he encouraged members of Mahan’s team not to trust the billionaires’ promises of campaign funding. " He called it, the billionaires did not went through their promises of funding

A few weeks later, David won the next round, too. Mahan, the billionaires’ chosen candidate for governor, lost decisively in the June 2 primary, earning just 3.7% of the state vote and conceding immediately after the polls closed. (As multiple postmortems have revealed, the tech donors ultimately gave millions less than the Mahan campaign needed to succeed.) Agarwal, the challenger they’d drafted to defeat Khanna, failed to make it out of the primary, too, earning just 6.5% of the vote in the district and coming in fourth, behind two Republicans.

I've had a bit of a 3 am epiphany. I like painting eyes. Especially 28mm eyes adding as many details as possible. I think it's because my own eyes are defective. I have astigmatism, hypermetropia and keratoconus on both eyes which makes seeing stuff up close difficult

Novitiates were my first KT2 team. I went back to them bc they were really strong and durable while I got used to the new edition. Was in the middle of painting a brand new reliquary when the nerfs dropped 🫡🐍🥲 #WarhammerComunity #nerdlings #minipainting

A miniature of a Warhammer 40000 novitiate. She's scared. Holds her sword on a defensive stance on one hand while the other holds a squad banner.

look, i have no words at the moment because it's 1:30 am rn but please, PLEASE if you care about ANYONE/ANYTHING in your life read this piece. I literally couldnt stop reading even though my body started complaining about sleep. There's lot to unpack and think about here.

I really liked I Was a Teenage Exocolonist, because it let you grapple with the tough shit, and I think to be good, you have to grapple with the tough shit, even when it feels like you can’t. Haven’t encountered many games that let me do that.

Hope is action.

Live with hope.

So take action.

Do good.

It's been a while since I last painted a character. I feel the lack of practice can be seen as im pretty sure I could get those transitions smoother. Oh well. #WarhammerCommunity #warhammer #killteam #novitiates #MiniaturePainting

A warhammer 40000 miniature showcase. It's a work in progress. A novitiate with a shocked and concerned look is reluctantly staring at something in the distance while timidly striking a battle stance.

A side effect of focusing so much on NMM and eyes is that i have no idea how to paint terrain. Been struggling with killzone Volkus trying different stuff but seems I finally hit something i like. Also figured out street view is a good tool for getting references #WarhanmerCommunity #MiniPainting

Basilica di santa maria di fiore in Florence, Italy. View from the street into its side. Mostly an off white façade it's decorated with patterns and motifs of green and red.

Side view of a piece of wargaming terrain. A ruined building undercoated in dark red, with off white sections and panels, and green details.

do not forget some of the most relatable characters you can find in the least expected of places

Opticon-22, A techpriest from the game Warhammer 40.000: Rogue Trader, who has replaced most of his body with cybernetic augments is replying to the player who has asked him what is he doing in the space dock instead of the Governor's Mansion.
Opticon-22 says: Prolonged communication with laypeople of high social standing causes this unit //vexation//desire for forceful cessation of vital functions…

Isnt this literally the plot of A Clockwork Orange?

Hashem Al-Ghaili, a creative scientist, developed Cognify, which represents a significant step forward in assisting offenders to improve. The technology contains a VR-like gadget that displays an AI-generated video of the crime and a brain implant that causes the individual to experience negative emotions such as regret and guilt.

These fabricated recollections are meant to be very real and detailed so that the offender feels the emotional effects of the crime. This could change their mind and make them less likely to commit another crime

So. A friend will be going to the Atlanta Warhammer World Championship. I made these really rudimentary promo cards for him to hand out over there. Why? Vanity I guess? I don't do commissions but I get the happy chems when people like my paint jobs :> There'll be 6 designs! #WarhammerCommunity
