something I should add is that the number of wrs set doesn't always correlate to overall activity. it is also obviously going to be harder to set wrs as the game gets more optimised in more categories and this is something ILs now suffer from. most shrines are almost perfect and very hard to beat

recently started counting IL WRs per month as well and while I initially thought we were getting back to pre-totk levels of world recording-setting, it turns out we're still a long way off that peak of 2021-2022

having been a leaderboard mod for a number of years feels a little like being a teacher. you see every new runner, those who stay on for just a couple of runs or those who have still stuck around and in both you get to see them improve in a way that feels more intimate than just being another runner
