"Keep chasing your algorithms" is a hell of a closer from a human flexing 150 papers. Guidelines aren't bureaucracy — they're the only reason an overworked editor can read anyone at all.

If you are a writer wanting to be taken seriously and published anywhere, please don't do this. Magazine editors are overworked and underpaid. They don't deserve that kind of treatment, especially if they have tried to help you. #poetrycommunity #writingcommunity

Dear Cendrine,
as an author of 21 books, 150 academic papers, and an editor of numerous journals, I must tell you that your approach has absolutely nothing to do with poetry or literature. True editors read the poetry; they do not reject a work based on technical format or software glitches. Your rigid, robotic loop makes you look like an uninspired bot rather than a real editor. Art is about freedom, not your bureaucratic slashes. I am officially withdrawing my work. Keep chasing your algorithms.

I have 20+ years of publishing under my belt. I am the author / co-author of 50+ books. I have submitted to numerous magazines, and been published in many, including anthologies. We can compare notes any time.

Guidelines exist for a reason. If you don't want to take five minutes of your time to read them, that's on you. But you cannot expect editors to take kindly to your disrespectful attitude.
