Het sneeuwt een beetje onder in de berichtgeving dat VVD, BBB en NSC bereid waren een motie in te dienen om het tienpuntenplan van Wilders te steunen. Die basislijn was dus niets meer waard. Niet vergeten.

In Frankrijk schreef Macron vorig jaar juni plotsklaps verkiezingen uit, die binnen 3 weken gehouden werden. Linkse partijen verenigden zich razendsnel in het Nouveau Front Populaire (nieuw volksfront) en wonnen tot ieders verrassing de verkiezingen, in plaats van Le Pen. Het is maar een ideetje.

Na anderhalf jaar stilstand heeft dit kabinet exact NIETS bereikt behalve populisme, zondebokspolitiek en constant vingerwijzen. Het kabinet is gevallen en dat werd tijd.

What we are witnessing in Turkey is not a “democracy in crisis”. 𝐈𝐭 𝐢𝐬 𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐨𝐜𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐲 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐚𝐜𝐤. And this is a global concern, and 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐬𝐡𝐨𝐮𝐥𝐝 𝐭𝐚𝐤𝐞 𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞, recognising that the erosion of democratic rights anywhere threatens freedom everywhere.
