KING ARTHUR x SAILOR MOON 'Once and Future King’ were words Morgan McArthur often heard in her childhood and academic career, but she never thought they might apply to her. Reincarnation pulls no punches, and neither so the armies of the Aesir when Mordred’s at the helm. #DVpit #F #NA #LGBT

I wouldn't call it jealousy 🤔 but there's certainly a possessiveness there. Thor deems himself the only one worthy of Morgan, both in life and death. And considering very few could stand up to the god of thunder and prove him wrong... #SumLuv #Writesky #OCsky

"Ride out and meet them as you planned," Thor said firmly, callused thumbs dragging against the skin under her eyes where her brands would be. "If you cannot view yourself as these people's king, then view yourself as their knight instead. You have well enough proven yourself worthy of that title. Fight for them. Die for them if you must. For they would do the same for you."

Something cold pulsed out from her chest at the thought of her own death. She had yet to really see that as an actual possibility until now. It was like Thor spoke the outcome into being, and now the universe had to consider it.

She reached up, gripping his wrist tightly. "If I am to die, will you take me to Valhalla?"

The warm, soft touch of lips to her own shocked her. It was barely a kiss. Hardly more than a breath. Fierce eyes leveled her with a look that held more promises than she could count. "No," he declared. "My father's hall is not for you. Never will I let you fall into his service. I would whisk you away to Thruthvang and my house of Bilskirnir. There you would rest in comfort until the day the next king is in need of your soul."

"And after that?" she asked.

"I will wait until you awaken once more," he swore. "Over and over until either the sorceresses let you rest… or the end of my kind comes."

Her hand moved from his wrist to his jaw, the rich, copper-colored beard tickling the tips of her fingers. "That sounds like a long time. I thought I asked you not to make me any promises."

"Then think of it not as a promise, but a wish."

A wish. That sounded nice. Nicer than what they'd be facing tomorrow.

Thor definitely falls first, and he's not exactly subtle about it (Morgan's just oblivious/doesn't think anyone would want her that way), but around this point they've definitely fallen for each other 😤 #SumLuv | #Writesky | #SheisKing

She turned her eyes towards him with a wry smile. "I don't suppose the great Thunderer could do something about the storm clouds, could he?"

Thor chuckled, low and rumbling like a purr. "If I could, Your Majesty, I would have done so already. A woman like you deserves only the warmest of the sun's light."

Morgan let her eyes fall away, feeling her stomach turn as a fluttering sensation filled her chest. "I don't know," she murmured. "I don't mind a thunderstorm once in a while."

A warm, rough hand brushed wayward hair from her face. The drag of the calloused pad of Thor’s fingers against her jaw pulled Morgan’s gaze his way. His smile and eyes were softer than expected, and it filled her gut with sticky-sweet honey.

“Only once in a while?”

Morgan once again felt her face grow warm as the implication of the deity's words sank in. "I'm not sure if it's something I can have more often than that," she admitted quietly. "Rain can't just fall on Avalon. It's needed elsewhere. And then thunder goes with it."

Her words were flowery, but Thor seemed to understand them well enough. His smile fell slightly, his thumb tracing the line of Morgan's jaw. It was all she could do to keep from leaning into the touch. It felt right against her skin, the barely-there buzz of static seeping into bones.

"I am a god of many things," he murmured. "Thunder is but one of them. If possible, I would..."

"Make me no promises." Morgan stopped him before he could give her hope. "At least not until we know what tomorrow looks like."

I'm honestly surprised this word doesn't show up more in She is King #WIPSnips #Writesky

Thor eyed her curiously, earning a chuckle from Morgan. "I'm afraid you're not the only divine presence in the building."
"And you are?" Thor asked, cautious as his curious gaze shifted to appraisal.
Black wings burst from Kolby's back like a shot from a canon, the inky blackness casting long, echoing shadows across the floor. One eye remained her natural mocha brown, but the other began to swirl with color -- fiery crimson, electric gold, and frigid blue. Frost bloomed along the floor like flowers in spring, and yet the air around them became thick and heated. Static sparked along her fingertips.
"We are the fury, slaughter, and death of War," Kolby said, three other voices coming from her throat alongside her own. "Battle crow. Sovereign. Fate-spinner. Badb, Macha, and Morrigan. And we are as ancient as you, Thunderer."
