My Sunday #D&D group brought our Campaign 1 characters back for a "one-shot." Then our DM left us on a cliffhanger, kicking off a level 20 mini-campaign! I've started a journal for this as well. So begins The Journal of Zaraya Dameros: The Death of Sagefall. archiveofourown.org/works/660653...

Another new #D&D character journal. The Cerberus Assembly has a job for Seekers' End, and Joren finally learns what his patron wants from him... and why. archiveofourown.org/works/618328...

#D&D character journal update: There is more going on in the Velvin Thicket than meets the eye. The adventuring party now known as Seekers' End must decide who to believe... and what to do about it. archiveofourown.org/works/618328...

You mean the people freaking out about the blatant corruption, abuses of power, criminality, contempt, and outright shameless cruelty in the US government right now? What's "wrong" is we're seeing the death of decency and democracy in this country - and people we thought we knew cheering it on.

Another #D&D journal update. Pieces are beginning to fall together, and the picture they're creating... isn't pretty. archiveofourown.org/works/618328...

Another #D&D journal. The difference between a hero and a traitor is often a matter of perspective. Who's who? archiveofourown.org/works/618328...

To be fair, the characters are barely described at all in TMA. That might be deliberate. My visualizations of them don't really match fanon much, either.

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 14/05/2025

I don't know that I'd say Malevolent is similar to The Magnus Archives, per se, but I can tell you there's a LOT of fandom crossover! I guess you could say it scratches the same itches. 😊

Malevolent's Yorick is a... very interesting creature. 😝

Gradually getting caught up again on my #D&D character journals. The party has found a place to stop and rest, so Joren seizes an opportunity. archiveofourown.org/works/618328...

So not only is my #D&D character pacted to Vecna, he's apparently also DESCENDED from him?! That was a VERY interesting conversation. 👁️✋📕🗡️ #dnd #ttrpg

An OC you've killed: Ah, poor Ilvethi. She did, in fact, betray the party to serve her patron. It didn't go well.

I made a new HeroForge of my previous #D&D character Zaraya and her wife Kamaria, and I'm so proud of how it turned out!

Zaraya, a Tiefling woman dressed in an elaborate purple and grey suit trimmed in gold, holds the hand of her wife Kamaria, a human woman with a heavily scarred face and wearing a blue and silver gown. They stare into each other's eyes with expressions of wonder and affection.

Fun shenanigans happening in my Sunday #D&D game. You know things are getting weird when your character wakes up from a nightmare, and you have to ask the DM if your eye is still there... 😨 On a related note, my warlock's patron is definitely Vecna. 😱

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 20/04/2025

Cry. It's okay. 💔 Then go back and listen again. Seriously - it's a totally different (though no less heartbreaking) experience the second time around!

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 20/04/2025

Not sure what's sillier: narrating your activities to your cat as you go about your morning, or discovering you've been describing the process of making coffee, in baby-talk, to no one because the cat has wandered off. 😂

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 19/04/2025

I KNOW, RIGHT?? It's been over a week since the episode dropped and I am still not okay 😭

I cannot recommend #Malevolent enough! It is absolutely terrifying and heartbreaking and heartwarming all at once.

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 17/04/2025

That finale fucked me up but good. 😭 Even on multiple relistens with the shock factor gone, it still makes me cry! It's been almost a year since I first heard it, and I am still not okay. So I get it. Virtual hugs to you! 🫂

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 17/04/2025

Oh, this is YOU?? Hi, I just left a comment a little bit ago. Yes, I'm still dead. This is my ghost speaking because you have killed me dead. 😝

HOLY SHIT. Mr. Guthrie, you are a bad bad man. I am not okay. 😱😭😵‍💫🤬🤯 (This was amazing and I loved it and I can't wait for the next season!!!!)

010

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 12/04/2025

Yes! The first five seasons are far and away the best, but it's still good after. 💜

030

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 10/04/2025

You really do need to start from the beginning. It's complete, though, so you can take your time. It went 200 episodes. The sequel(ish) series, The Magnus Protocol, is still going, and once again you'd need to start from the beginning. But it's only 30-odd episodes so far.

030

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 06/04/2025

I hadn't thought about it that way - what a fascinating take! Sounds like an excuse for listen #5... 😝

010

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 06/04/2025

Ooh, I'll have to check this out. I absolutely ADORE The Magnus Archives, so this looks interesting!

010

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 06/04/2025

That one is DELIGHTFULLY unsettling. 😊

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 03/04/2025

"Eat the elephant" "This too shall pass" All of "Invictus" Plus all the themes about friendship, love, and forgiveness. I have never, ever heard, read, or seen any other horror story that was this good for my mental health. 😂 A gripping story that soothes my soul? MORE PLEASE! ❤️

Yeah, take a good deep breath before diving into S5. It'll absolutely gut you. 🫂

110

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 03/04/2025

190% yes. (That was supposed to say 100%, but the typo makes for good emphasis!) It's a long, slow build, as others have said, but I'd argue that's part of what makes the story work so well. Your patience WILL pay off, in BIG ways.

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 02/04/2025

#Malevolent! I got turned onto it from TMA fandom, and it's SO GOOD. 💛💛💛

Down side to re-listening to #Malevolent on my way to work: getting to Part 4 and having "Plastic Jesus" stuck in my head. 😖 Up side to working in a music store: plenty of pianos on which to play "Faroe's Song" so I can get "Plastic Jesus" un-stuck. 😝 #malevolentpodcast

"I am getting Noel to referee" 🤣😂🤣😂 This is just adorable.

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 23/03/2025

What got me in S4 was the moment in 154 (?) when John finds out how to leave the Institute and goes straight to Martin. "Together... one way or another," he says as he pleads with him. And the way that line is echoed in 200 to call back to that moment just HURTS in the best way. 😭

Celtic Knot @celtic-knot.bsky.social · 22/03/2025

I KNOW, RIGHT? That ending absolutely shattered me 😭

Episode 43 of #Malevolent is a RIDE, y'all. I'm gonna need a minute to recover. 😝 Definitely a favorite! #malevolentpodcast

So, I cannot draw to save my life. But I love making characters in HeroForge! So here's my mental image of Arthur Lester from #Malevolent, with a representation of John. Plus bonus Yorick!

I love the lily detail on John. 😭

Also, now I understand why so much of the fanart has him looking like a D&D character. 😝
